    With the application of chemical enhanced oil recovery methods, water separation is a major issue in a production facility. Oil/water separation is suppressed with a stable emulsion. The present study evaluated the impact of different emulsifiers in enhanced oil recovery. The effectiveness of each additive such as an alkali, surfactant, or polymer on the stability of the emulsion was anticipated using laser scattering to measure the emulsion’s stability.     This paper experimentally investigates the influence of hydrogen enrichment on the combustion and emission characteristics of a diesel HCCI engine using a modified Cooperative Fuel Research (CFR) engine. Three fuels, n-heptane and two middle distillates with cetane numbers of 46.6 and 36.6, are studied. The results show that hydrogen enrichment retards the combustion phasing and reduces the combustion duration of a diesel HCCI engine. Besides, hydrogen enrichment increases the power output and fuel conversion efficiency, and improves the combustion stability.     A luminescent coating of CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ particles applied on photoanode (TiO2) layer of SQ1 sensitized solar cell by doctor blading the paste of phosphor particles. The luminescent layer acted as a dual functional layer and enhanced the short circuit current density (JSC) by 64% via both scattering effect and downshifting of the photons in 400-600nm spectral range to photons in 600-800nm spectral range. Considerable relative enhancement in incident photon to current conversion efficiency (IPCE) up to 350% in 400-600nm spectral range proves the down shifting effect as the dominant factor for the improved performance of dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC). © 2016 Elsevier B.V

    A pulse-based ultra-wideband transceiver (UWB-IR) operating in the 3.25-4.75 GHz band designed for low power and high data rate communication is implemented in 0.18 μm CMOS technology. When operating at 1 Gbps data rate, it dissipates 98 mW (98 pJ/b) in the receive-mode and 108 mW (108 pJ/b) in the transmit-mode from a 1.8 V supply [1].     For a set of 846 organic compounds, relevant in forensic analytical chemistry, with highly diverse chemical structures, the gas chromatographic Kovats retention indices have been quantitatively modeled by using a large set of molecular descriptors generated by software Dragon.
