    Abstract
Sustainable development is significantly contributing the environmental degradation due to improvements in financial sector in One Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) region. Thus, the present research work constructs the sustainable development index for BRI. Afterwards, it unfolds the nexus of sustainable development-environmental degradation and also evaluates the role of financial development indicators in BRI economies. By utilizing the robust mean group, the present study quantifies the long-run marginal impacts of sustainable development, financial development indicators, energy consumption, and urban sprawl on environmental degradation, respectively. The marginal impacts infer an inverted...

    Abstract
Betaine-based natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs), a new class of green solvents, were immobilized into a porous polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) support and evaluated for the separation of CO2 from CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4 mixtures. Two types of NADESs were synthesized by mixing betaine (hydrogen bond acceptor-HBA) with malic acid and tartaric acid (hydrogen bond donors-HBD) respectively. FTIR and Raman spectroscopy were studied to confirm the synthesis and purity of the NADESs. The thermal strength of the NADESs was investigated using thermogravimetric analysis. The gas permeation results of the fabricated NADES-based-supported liquid membranes (NADES-SLMs) showed that the permeability of CO2...

Partial root zone drying irrigation improves water use efficiency but compromise the yield and quality of cotton crop

    Abstract
Water shortage is the main limitation for agricultural production in many parts of the world. Drought or unavailability of water may seriously limit plant growth as well as yield. A pot experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of various irrigation strategies, i.e., Full (FI), deficit (DI) and partial root-zone drying (PRD) on physiological, biochemical and yield-related attributes of cotton crop. Irrigation treatments started 60 days after planting and lasted for 60 days. For FI and DI, 100% and 50% of evapotranspiration (ET) was replaced by irrigating the entire pot surface every 4–5 days. For PRD, root system was split into two equal halves and during each irrigation event, only...
