    Abstract
The goal of this paper is to develop a model to integrate "pricing" and "advertisement" for short life cycle products, such as branded fashion clothing products. To achieve this goal, we apply the concept of "Dynamic Pricing". There are two classes of advertisements, for the brand (regardless of product) and for a particular product. Advertising the brand affects the demand and price of all the products. Thus, the model considers all these products in relation with each other. We develop two different methods to integrate both types of advertisement and pricing. The first model is developed within the framework of dynamic programming. However, due to the complexity of the model, this method...

Developing a multi-products newsboy problem with a hybrid method of fuzzysimulation and simulated annealing

    , Article 2009 International Conference on Computers and Industrial Engineering, CIE 2009, 6 July 2009 through 9 July 2009, Troyes ; 2009 , Pages 1787-1792 ; 9781424441365 (ISBN) Taleizadeh, A. A ; Shavandi, H ; Aslani, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, we develop the multi-products multi-constraints newsboyproblem with fuzzy demands considering the total discount situation. Since thedemands of products are often fuzzy in the real world, the profit of the newsboyis fuzzy too. A new model is presented for multi-products multi-constraintsnewsboy problem in fuzzy Environment (FM-PM-CNP). The objective function ofproposed model is to maximize the expected profit of newsboy. We consider theconstraints such as service rate, restriction on quantity order, and restrictionon warehouse space and budget. We also consider batch size for products order.Furthermore, a hybrid intelligent algorithm based on simulated annealing andfuzzy...

The relative importance of the business model motive for customer participation in the sharing economy

    , Article Sustainable Production and Consumption ; Volume 34 , 2022 , Pages 190-201 ; 23525509 (ISSN) Alaei, S ; Aslani, S ; Talebian, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The sharing economy, defined by peer-to-peer interactions through a platform, has been gaining ground in recent years. In this study, we discuss the relative importance of customers' perceived motives to participate in the two most common models of the sharing economy: access-based consumption and ownership-transfer. We focus on taxi-hailing and post-delivery as examples of access-based consumption and second-hand trade as an example of the ownership-transfer. While these two contain heterogeneous business model patterns that can motivate customers differently, common motives are significant in both models. We study common motives and motives aligned with the business model patterns, which...

Optimal promotion planning for a product launch in the presence of word-of-mouth

    , Article Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services ; Volume 64 , 2022 ; 09696989 (ISSN) Bigdellou, S ; Aslani, S ; Modarres, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Marketing managers concern that Word-of-Mouth (WOM) can affect the efficiency of sales promotion policy. Sales promotion might also amplify the strength of WOM which further complicates decision-making. In this study, we deploy an agent-based simulation optimization framework to find an efficient sales promotion plan in the presence of WOM for launching re-purchasable products. In this model, consumers' purchase decisions are influenced by price history, availability and satisfaction of the consumers, and positive/negative WOM. We show that taking WOM on board while determining the promotion plan can significantly increase the net present value. However, amplifying WOM might damage the...

Improving the performance of spatial domain image watermarking with high boost filter

    , Article Indian Journal of Science and Technology ; Vol. 7, issue. 12 , Dec , 2014 , p. 2133-2139 Alirezanejad, M ; Amirgholipour, S ; Safari, V ; Aslani, S ; Arab, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Authenticating in transaction of digital media becomes an active research field now a day. That is emerging due to the illegal use of digital media and hacking by unauthorized users. Spatial domain based watermarking methods are one of the authentication methods. These methods are not generally robust against intentional or unintentional changes in the images. In this paper, a new method is proposed to recover watermark more precisely in the spatial domain watermarking method. A high-boost filtering is utilized before executing watermark extraction procedure. The watermark information is magnified by preforming this filter. Effectiveness of this filter is proved by several experiment....

Evaluation of the ankylosing spondylitis transcriptome for oxidative phosphorylation pathway: the shared pathway with neurodegenerative diseases

    , Article Iranian journal of allergy, asthma, and immunology ; Volume 20, Issue 5 , 2021 , Pages 563-573 ; 17355249 (ISSN) Lari, A ; Gholami Pourbadie, H ; Sharifi Zarchi, A ; Aslani, S ; Nejatbakhsh Samimi, L ; Jamshidi, A ; Mahmoudi, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a systemic inflammatory disorder of joints and entheses. Recent studies have reported an increased prevalence of dementia in AS patients. However, data for exploring the association between dementia and AS remain uncertain. In this study, enriched pathways and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in whole blood transcription data of AS patients obtained from the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database; using gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and differential expression analysis. Four pathways, including oxidative phosphorylation, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's diseases were significantly enriched in AS patients compared to the...
