    , Article Fluid Phase Equilibria ; Volume 415 , 2016 , Pages 42-50 ; 03783812 (ISSN) Kalantari Meybodi, M ; Daryasafar, A ; Karimi, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Interfacial tension is one of the very important parameters in pharmacology science, chemical engineering and petroleum engineering. The interfacial tension between pure hydrocarbons and water is widely used in chemical and petroleum engineering and so that it is highly desirable to find its accurate values. In this study a new unique correlation has been developed based on a comprehensive database of pure hydrocarbons-water interfacial tension values which contained both aliphatic and aromatic compounds (32 different hydrocarbons) with pressure ranges of 0.1-300 MPa and temperature ranges of 252.44-550 K. The proposed correlation uses the density difference between pure hydrocarbon and...

    Abstract
Nanofluids viscosity is one of the most important thermophysical properties in nanofluids usage especially in chemical and petroleum engineering applications. So it is highly desirable to predict the viscosity of nanofluids accurately. Experimental measurements are impossible in most situations and present models are not comprehensive and efficient especially for high temperature, high volume concentration and high viscosity values. In this study, a new correlation has been developed based on the comprehensive database of water based Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2 and CuO nanofluids viscosity data found in literature. The proposed correlation uses temperature, nanoparticle size, nanoparticle volumetric...

Accurate analytical model for determination of effective diffusion coefficient of polymer electrolyte fuel cells by designing compact Loschmidt cells

    Abstract
Effective diffusion coefficient is an important parameter which needs to be determined in different fields of study, such as cathode catalyst layers of PEM fuel. For this purpose, a Loschmidt diffusion cell can be used. When a porous medium is placed in Loschmidt apparatus, the effective gas diffusion coefficient (EGDC) of this section must be correlated by diffusion coefficient in absence of a porous medium. In the previous researches studying the Loschmidt diffusion cell, a simplifying infinite-length assumption was used in the analytical solution. Therefore, the solution is only applicable for a short time range, and this can result in high error. In order to overcome this challenge, the...

Determining influence of different factors on production optimization by developing production scenarios

    Abstract
Production optimization is defined as the process of maximizing oil production over the long term while minimizing total production costs. The overall goal is to achieve the optimum profitability from the well or field. In this process, the reservoir system can be considered as a multiple input–output system. In this complex system injection and production wells are known as inputs and outputs. The output of the system is often affected by various parameters consisting reservoir conditions, petrophysics, and PVT data. The optimization of the injector rates and number and installation of submersible pumps are the main issues which have been studied in this paper. Determining the factor with...
