Abstract
By reformulating the governing equations of the first-order theory into those describing the interior and edge-zone problems of the plate, closed-form solutions are presented for analysis of functionally graded circular sector plates with vertex angle (Formula presented.) whose radial edges are simply supported and subjected to transverse loading and heat conduction through the plate thickness. Various types of clamped, simply supported, and free-edge boundary supports are considered on the circular edge of the plate. The material properties are graded through the plate thickness according to a power-law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents. The effects of material...

Abstract
Based on the first-order shear deformation plate theory, two approaches within the extended Kantorovich method (EKM) are presented for a bending analysis of functionally graded annular sector plates with arbitrary boundary conditions subjected to both uniform and non-uniform loadings. In the first approach, EKM is applied to the functional of the problem, while in the second one EKM is applied to the weighted integral form of the governing differential equations of the problem as presented by Kerr. In both approaches, the system of ordinary differential equations with variable coefficients in r direction and the set of ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients in θ direction...

Abstract
Based on the first-order non-linear von Karman theory, cylindrical bending of functionally graded (FG) plates subjected to mechanical, thermal, and combined thermo-mechanical loadings are investigated. Analytical solutions are obtained for an FG plate with various clamped and simply-supported boundary conditions. The closed form solutions obtained are very simple to be used in design purposes. The material properties are assumed to vary continuously through the thickness of the plate according to a power-law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents. The effects of non-linearity, material property, and boundary conditions on various response quantities are studied and...

Abstract
One of the most important phenomena related to electrically actuated micro and nano electromechanical systems (MEMSNEMS) is dynamic pull-in instability which occurs when the electrical attraction and beam inertia forces are more than elastic restoring force of the beam. According to failure of classical mechanics constitutive equations in prediction of dynamic behavior of small size systems, nonlocal theory is implemented here to analyze the dynamic pull-in behavior. Equation of motion of an electrostatically actuated micro to nano scale doubly clamped beam is rewritten using differential form of nonlocal theory constitutive equation. To analyze the nonlocal effect equation of motion is...

Abstract
In this paper, nonlinear thermo-mechanical free vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) beams investigated. Euler-Bernoulli assumptions together with Vo n Karman's strain-displacement relation are employed to derive the nonlinear governing partial differential equation (PDE) of motion. He's variational method is employed to obtain a simple and efficient approximate closed form solution of the nonlinear governing equation. Comparison between results of the present work and those available in literature shows the accuracy of presented technique. Some new results for the nonlinear natural frequencies of the FG beams such as the effect of vibration amplitude, material inhomogeneity and...

Abstract
The use of manipulators in space missions has become popular, as their applications can be extended to various space missions such as on-orbit servicing, assembly, and debris removal. Due to space reachability limitations, such robots must accomplish their tasks in space autonomously and under severe operating conditions such as the occurrence of faults or uncertainties. For robots and manipulators used in space missions, this paper provides a unique, robust control technique based on Model Predictive Path Integral Control (MPPI). The proposed algorithm, named Planner-Estimator MPPI (PE-MPPI), comprises a planner and an estimator. The planner controls a system, while the estimator modifies...

Abstract
In this paper, a novel structure for MOSFET like CNTFETs (MOSCNTs) is proposed, combining the advantages of both high and low dielectrics to improve output characteristics. In this structure, the gate dielectric at the drain side is selected from a material with low dielectric constant to form smaller capacitances, while a material with high dielectric constant is selected at the source side to improve on current and reduce leakage current. The new structure is simulated based on the Schrödinger-Poisson formulation. Obtained results show that the proposed configuration has lower off and higher on current in comparison with low-k MOSCNTs. Also, using a two-dimensional model, a wide range of...

Abstract
Stress analysis of thick walled functionally graded (FG) cylindrical pressure vessels subjected to uniform axisymmetric thermo-mechanical loads is presented using Bernstein polynomials. All thermal and mechanical properties except Poisson's ratio of the FG vessels vary through the thickness with arbitrary functions of the radial coordinate. Based on the thermo-elasticity theory, the first law of thermodynamics and axisymmetric assumption, the governing equations of the semi-coupled thermo-elasticity problem reduce to a set of second order boundary value problem. Galerkin method together with Bernstein polynomials is used to obtain solution for the governing equations. The presented method is...

Abstract
Ordinary frequently occur as mathematical models in many fields of science, engineering, differential equations (ODEs) and economy. It is rarely that ODEs have closed form analytical solutions, so it is common to seek approximate solutions by means of numerical methods. One of the most useful methods for the solution of ODEs is multi-step methods. Although the existing multi-step methods such as Adams—Moulton are accurate and useful, they also have their own limitations such as instability at large step sizes or weak performance in the case of stiff ODEs. Thus, multi-step methods that show better behavior compared to the existing methods are preferred, because they decrease the computational...

Abstract
In this paper, size dependent static behavior of micro and nano cantilevers actuated by a static electric field including deflection and pull-in instability, is analyzed implementing nonlocal theory. Euler-bernoulli assumptions are made to model the relation between deflection of the beam and bending moment. Differential form of the constitutive equation of nonlocal theory is used to find the revised equation for bending moment and substituting in the equilibrium equation of electrostatically actuated beams final nonlinear ordinary differential equation is arrived. Also the boundary conditions for solving the equation are revised and to analyze the size effect better governing equation is...

Abstract
To solve neutron transport equation in multigroup approach, in addition to weighting function and number of energy groups, proper selection of the group boundaries have high importance for the accuracy of the calculations. In the current paper, the bilinear combination of forward and adjoint neutron spectra is used for the optimization of 69 energy group structure of WIMSD5 lattice physics code. To remedy the energy self-shielding effect, homogeneous adjoint and forward BN equations on an ultrafine energy group structure have been solved to obtain the ultrafine forward and adjoint spectra. The coarse group intervals are selected to have equal values of bilinear function in each...

Abstract
In this paper, the generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method is used to study free vibration of moderately thick rectangular plate partially resting on Pasternak foundation. The foundation is considered to support the plate either completely or partially. The governing equations which consist of a system of partial differential equations (PDEs) are obtained based on the first-order shear deformation theory. Various combinations of simply supported, clamped and free boundary conditions are considered. Application of the GDQ method to the governing PDEs resulted in a system of algebraic equations. Solution of this system with accordance to the considered boundary conditions leads to an...

Abstract
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is an irreversible bulge in the artery with higher prevalence among the elderlies. Increase of the aneurysm diameter by time is a fatal phenomenon which will lead to its sidewall rupture. Invasive surgical treatments are vital in preventing from AAA development. These approaches however have considerable side effects. Targeted drug delivery using microbubbles (MBs) has been recently employed to suppress the AAA growth. The present study is aimed to investigate the surface adhesion of different types of drug-containing MBs to the inner wall of AAA through ligand-receptor binding, using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulation by using a patient CT-scan...

Abstract
Accurate calculation of kinetic parameters is of utmost importance in the safety analysis of a nuclear reactor. In the current paper, two approaches are investigated to evaluate these parameters in energy phase space. In the first approach, these parameters are derived from an energy-continuous form of the forward and adjoint transport equations and then integrals with respect to the energy variable are replaced by weighted summations over the energy groups, while in the second approach these parameters are extracted from the multi-group forward equation and its associate adjoint equation in which their multigroup constants are weighted by forward spectrum. The difference of weighting...

Abstract
In this paper, simple analytical expressions are presented for geometrically non-linear vibration analysis of thin nanobeams with both simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. Gurtin-Murdoch surface elasticity together with Euler-Bernoulli beam theory is used to obtain the governing equations of motions of the nanobeam with surface effects consideration. The governing nonlinear partial differential equation is reduced to a single nonlinear ordinary differential equation using Galerkin technique. He's variational approach is employed to obtain analytical solution for the resulted nonlinear governing equation. The effects of different parameters such as vibration amplitude, boundary...
