    Abstract
In this research, the cyclic performance of double corrugated steel plate shear walls (DCSPSWs) is investigated experimentally and confirmed numerically. Three half-scale one-story single-bay specimens with different infill plate designs were constructed and tested under lateral cyclic loads. The design parameters examined were the connection between the corrugated plates and the connection between the infill plate and the columns. The results showed that regardless of the infill plate design, the DCSPSWs had a spindle-shaped hysteresis curve with good cyclic performance. However, the beam-only-connected DCSPSW exhibited slightly lower lateral load resistance. Finite element (FE) models of...

    Abstract
Lately, Corrugated Steel Plate Shear Walls (CSPSWs) have gained significance and reputation for being effective lateral force-resisting systems. Corrugated plates are characterized by greater out-of-plane stiffness and buckling stability than flat plates, ensuring their enhanced hysteretic behavior. In ordinary Steel Plate Shear Walls (SPSWs), infill plates are fixed to beams and columns. But, detaching the infill plate from columns and connecting it to the beams only is assumed here as a method for reducing column demands. The current study explores the cyclic performance of CSPSWs with beam-only-connected infill plates. The design of a one-story single-bay specimen was done and its finite...

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Double Corrugated Steel Plate Shear Walls

    Abstract
Recently, corrugated steel plate shear walls (CSPSWs) have been shown to be an efficient lateral force resisting system for building structures. Corrugated plates have higher out-of-plane stiffness and improved buckling stability in comparison with flat plates which result in improved hysteretic behavior. The application of CSPSWs in tall buildings requires a wide range of thicknesses for the infill plates. Yet, the available range of thicknesses of corrugated plates is limited because of the restrictions associated with the process of cold forming. One solution to this problem is to use two corrugated plates as an infill plate. In this research, the cyclic performance of double corrugated...

Assessing the Capacity of the Renewables as the Industrial Driving Force Rather than the Energy Provider, Case Study: Feasibility Study of Wind Turbine Manufacturing in Iran

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kafizadeh Kashan, Maryam (Author) ; Maleki, Abbas (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Facing the two challenges of the recession and rising requirement to reduce carbon emissions have led countries around the world to look for ways to promote economic productivity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In the meantime, the appearance of renewable energies has the potential to grow and diversify the economy, in addition to providing an effective solution to meet the growing demand for energy. The impact of development of the renewables industry on the economy for each country and each type of renewables can be examined separately. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the development role of wind energy industry as the motive engine of industry and specifically answer two...

An efficient solution method for an agri-fresh food supply chain: hybridization of Lagrangian relaxation and genetic algorithm

    Abstract
In the traditional agri-fresh food supply chain (AFSC), geographically dispersed small farmers transport their products individually to the market for sale. This leads to a higher transportation cost, which is the primary cause of farmers’ low profitability. This paper formulates a traditional product movement problem in AFSC. First, the aggregate product movement model is combined with the vehicle routing model to redesign an existing AFSC (the ETKA Company; the most extensive domestic agri-fresh food supply chain in Iran) based on the available data. For the four-echelon, multi-period supply chain under investigation, a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model is developed for the...
