An integrated vendor-buyer inventory model with partial backordering

    , Article Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management ; Volume 23, Issue 7 , 2012 , Pages 869-884 ; 1741038X (ISSN) Moshrefi, F ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of supply chain coordination on inventory management while the retailer inventory cycle consists of a shortage period and the backorder rate linearly decreases as a function of shortage duration. It is intended to consider how on-hand inventory and shortage durations are altered when the decisions are centralized. Design/methodology/approach - Mathematical modelling of inventory costs for the retailer and the vendor is used to formulate objective functions. The vendor sets his inventory period as an integer multiple (n) of the retailer inventory cycle in which the integer multiple is a decision variable. Solution spaces of models...

A new order splitting model with stochastic lead times for deterioration items

    , Article International Journal of Systems Science ; Vol. 45, Issue. 9 , 2014 , pp. 1936-1954 ; ISSN: 00207721 Sazvar, Z ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Baboli, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In unreliable supply environments, the strategy of pooling lead time risks by splitting replenishment orders among multiple suppliers simultaneously is an attractive sourcing policy that has captured the attention of academic researchers and corporate managers alike. While various assumptions are considered in the models developed, researchers tend to overlook an important inventory category in order splitting models: deteriorating items. In this paper, we study an order splitting policy for a retailer that sells a deteriorating product. The inventory system is modelled as a continuous review system (s, Q) under stochastic lead time. Demand rate per unit time is assumed to be constant over...

Coordination by contract for capacity and price decisions considering stochastic and price-dependent demand settings

    , Article 41st International Conference on Computers and Industrial Engineering 2011, 23 October 2011 through 25 October 2011 ; 2011 , Pages 323-329 ; 9781627486835 (ISBN) Pezeshki, Y ; Baboli, A ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the simultaneous coordination of price and capacity building decision in a dyadic supply chain which is in the context of capacity reservation problem. While the coordination in this context with stochastic demand and fixed price has been received much attention in the literature, but the price-dependent and stochastic demand has been less considered. There is a price-setting buyer which faces a linear decreasing demand with respect to price. To capture the uncertainty nature of the demand we add a stochastic variable to the demand function. In addition, we incorporate production time and inventory cost in supplier side. We study the model in both additive and...

Evaluation of supply chain routes based on control engineering and DEA considering traffic congestion and uncertainty

    , Article International Journal of Business Performance and Supply Chain Modelling ; Volume 13, Issue 2 , 2022 , Pages 139-166 ; 17589401 (ISSN) Babaei, A ; Khedmati, M ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, a mathematical model is proposed to assess the flow distribution based on the traffic criterion. In the mathematical model, the resilience and stability criteria are developed based on the concepts of control engineering and optimal control. The results show that the route stability is dependent on the traffic parameter. Then, considering several factors including stability, safety, resilience, risk-averse investment, the environment and noise, a decision-making model is presented to evaluate the performance of the flow distribution routes during crises. Goal programming and data-oriented modelling are used to solve the mathematical model. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is...

Trust-based coordination mechanism in a divergent supply Chain

    , Article 62nd IIE Annual Conference and Expo 2012, 19 May 2012 through 23 May 2012 ; May , 2012 , Pages 3268-3277 Pezeshki, Y ; Baboli, A ; Cheikhrouhou, N ; Modarres, M ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Campagne, J. P ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
We consider coordination by contract in a divergent supply chain including one manufacturer and several retailers which produces fashion products with short sale seasons. The retailers cooperate with the manufacturer as sales agents; i.e., they work in the framework of revenue sharing contracts. Because of their proximity to the market, retailers can provide more accurate demand forecast for the manufacturer when he wants to decide on his capacity building (expansion), product assignment decision and market prices with regard to retailers stiff due date, different lead times and different price-dependent demand functions. To ensure abundant supply and increase their sales, the retailers have...

Planar maximal covering location problem with inclined ellipses

    , Article Applied Mechanics and Materials, 29 July 2011 through 31 July 2011 ; Volume 110-116 , July , 2012 , Pages 4861-4866 ; 16609336 (ISSN) ; 9783037852620 (ISBN) Charkhgard, H ; Jokar, M. R. A ; Int. Assoc. Comput. Sci. Inf. Technol. (IACSIT) ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Aximum coverage location problem is considered in this study. Extension of this problem is investigated for situations that coverage areas are elliptical; these ellipses can locate anywhere on the plane with any angle. Mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) is applied for formulation. This problem can be used in many practical situations such as locating wireless transmitter towers. A heuristic algorithm named MCLPEA for solving this problem was designed. This algorithm can produce very good results in efficient running time. Finally, the comparison of the results for this study was carried done

New replenishment policy for deterioration items in green supply chain

    Abstract
Many developed models for deterioration items considered only costs related to inventories. Recently consumers and legislation have pushed companies to design their activities in order to reduce more and more the negative environmental impacts. Thus, it is important to examine the optimization of total supply chain costs and environmental impacts together. However, because of the recycling of the deteriorated items, the environmental impacts of supplying deterioration items are more significant than the non-deterioration products. The objective of this paper is developing a mathematical model and proposing a new replenishment policy in a centralized supply chain for deterioration items. In...
