    Abstract
    This paper presents a distributed run-time task synchronization method for multicore processors aiming to reduce the average power consumption of the chip and satisfy a given thermal constraint, while imposing no performance overhead. Being built on the game theory concepts, this is achieved by dynamically changing the frequency of each individual core based on its current workload iteratively until converging to an optimal point. In this work we target two thermal constraints: keeping (1) the core peak temperature and, (2) thermal gradient across the cores below a predefined threshold.
