    Construction of a modified carbon paste electrode based on TiO2 nanoparticles for the determination of gallic acid

    Abstract
    A modified carbon paste electrode was prepared by incorporating the TiO2 nanoparticles in the carbon paste matrix. The electrochemical behavior of gallic acid (GA) is investigated on the surface of the electrode using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The surface morphology of the prepared electrode was characterized using the scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that the electrochemical response of GA is improved significantly at the modified electrode compared with the unmodified electrode.     An efficient heterogeneous palladium catalyst system has been developed based on immobilization of Pd nanoparticles on silica-bonded N-propylpiperazine (SBNPP) substrate. SBNPP substrate can stabilize the Pd nanoparticles effectively so that it can improve their stability against aggregation. Also, grafted piperazine species onto the silica backbone prevents the removing of Pd nanoparticles from the substrate surface.     Three steels were designed based on HSLA-100 with additional levels of Mn, Ni, Cr and Cu. The steels were prepared by controlled rolling and tempered at temperatures in range of 550-700°C. The continuous cooling time curves were shifted to longer times and lower temperatures with the increased tendency for the formation of martensite at lower cooling rates. The microstructures revealed that controlled rolling results in austenite with uniform fine grain structure.     This paper describes a simple and low-cost test strip for on-site monitoring of methiocarb insecticide. Hydrophilic filter paper soaked in agarose solution was bounded by hydrophobic solid wax and then was coated with unmodified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). AuNPs aggregation caused by methiocarb served as colorimetric response. We demonstrated detection capability of methiocarb both in solution- and substrate-based sensor.     The first report of anti-aggregation-based sensor arrays is presented. The strategy is based on the competitive interaction of citrate-capped gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and heavy metal ions (i.e., Hg(II), Ag(I), Fe(III), and Pb(II)) with three aggregation reagents (i.e., cysteine, melamine, and arginine).
