    This project is devoted to experimental investigation of increasing on production of polyethylene/clay nanocomposites (PECNs) and polypropylene/clay nanocomposites (PPCNs) via in-situ polymerization method. First of all we produced bi-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst to polymerized polyolefins nanocomposites. Bentonite type clay and Magnesiumethoxide (Mg (OEt)2) were used as the support of Tetrachloridetitanium (TiCl4). Catalyst support and polymerization process have been done in slurry phase using Triisobutylaluminum (TiBA) as the co-catalyst.     The main object of this thesis is synthesizing poly(vinyl acetate)/ colloidal silica nanocomposites via emulsion and in-situ polymerization methods. At the first, nanocomposites were produced in the presence of poly(vinyl alcohol) as the protective colloid, ammonium persulphate as the initiator and sodium bicarbonate as the buffer in an aqueous solution.     Modified Forward Osmosis Membrane Preparation for Portable Water Purification Systems

    Abstract
    In this study, mesh-reinforced cellulose acetate (CA)-based membranes were prepared for forward osmosis (FO) by immersion precipitation. Casting composition, preparation conditions, evaporation time, coagulation bath temperature, annealing temperature, CA percent and 1,4-dioxane/acetone ratio were tested for membranes’ performance. Also, the results were compared with commercially CTA membranes. The FO membrane prepared under optimized conditions had a smooth surface similar to commercial ones. The most proper membrane (17.9 % polymer and 1,4-dioxane /acetone ratio 1.89) showed water flux of 9.3 L/m2.hr (LMH) and RSF of 0.536 mol NaCl/m2.hr.     Today, the process of corrosion and compensation of minor injuries, without the need for tracing or any other physical interference, has become one of the subjects of interest to researchers. Inhibitors have been considered as one of the anti-corrosion agents. In this research, safflower extract as a green inhibitor in sodium chloride corrosive environment was used to evaluate the rate of corrosion of mild steel.     Flexible thermoelectric (TE) fabrics were prepared by dip coating of a mixture solution of water base colloidal geraphen nano sheet(GNS) and carbon nano tube(CNT) and polyaniline (PANI) on polyester fabric. The phase composition and morphology of the TE fabrics were investigated by FTIR-ATR diffraction and feld emission scanning electron microscopy. The TE properties of the PANI/GNS or CNT coated fabrics with different GNS and CNT loadings were measured in the temperature range from 303 to 338 K.     Abstract
    To protect mild steel against corrosion, an intelligent self-healing epoxy (EP) coating including carbon nanofiber (CNF) modified with polydopamine (PDA)-La (III) complex was successfully fabricated. The high aspect ratio and unique thermal and electrical characteristics of CNF made it an ideal physical barrier against the penetration of corrosive ions. Due to the poor dispersion of CNF, its surface was modified using PDA. PDA, which contains functional groups such as catechol, amine, and imine, can mitigate corrosion reaction by generating the Fe-Catechol complex and also boost the coating's adherence to the metal surface, in addition to anchoring La3+ inorganic corrosion inhibitor....

    In this project, inverse emulsion polymerization (IEP) modeling of poly acrylamid (PAM) using population balance equations (PBEs) has been performed. For this porpuse zero-one and pseudo- bulk models and hybrid model including the zero-one and pseudo- bulk are applied based on the process conditions. The effects of surfactant steric barrier and surfactant reaction with radicals including monomeric radicals on the radical entry rate into the particle have been taken into account for these models.
