    Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding between Aluminum Alloy and Magnesium Alloy

    In this project, Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding (FSW) between aluminum alloys (1100-H12 and 5083-O) and Magnesium alloy (AZ31B-O) with 3mm thickness were butt joined. Fusion welding of aluminum/magnesium alloys has failed because of forming much more intermetallic compounds. By using friction stir welded samples, effect of welding parameters such as tool travel speed, tool rotation rate, tool position respect to weld centerline, and sheet position respect to tool direction on mechanical (tensile strength, yield strength and elongation) and microstructural properties of the welds were investigated.     There are experimental observations that show material response in micro-scale is dependent on some other parameters rather than Lame parameters. Strain gradient elasticity has been recently developed to take into account this characteristic of materials response. In strain gradient elasticity, characteristic length parameters enter the constitutive equations through the elastic strain energy density function.     A numerical framework is proposed to estimate the liquefaction-induced settlement of the fully saturated sandy layers in the free fields due to earthquake excitation and the results of the proposed method are compared with those of the empirical or probabilistic methods suggested by the previous researchers.     Abstract
    In this paper, the effect of different parameters of power plants, such as height above sea level, performance, ambient temperature, fuel type on emissions in Iran's power plants is investigated. Based on that, a general strategy for selecting the type of power plant, fuel that fit with the geographical situation in the Middle East is presented. Results taken from this scientific study shows that using natural gas to generate power in the region should be a priority. As well as expected, the value of various emission factors decrease by increasing power produce. Also the emission factors of combined cycle power plants are the lowest as compared to other types of power plants
