    Analysis of the effect of reinforcement particles on the compressibility of Al-SiC composite powders using a neural network model

    Abstract
    A neural network (ANN) model was developed to predict the densification of composite powders in a rigid die under uniaxial compaction. Al-SiC powder mixtures with various reinforcement volume fractions (0-30%) and particle sizes (50 nm to 40 μm) were prepared and their compressibility was studied in a wide range of compaction pressure up to 400 MPa. The experimental results were used to train a back propagation (BP) learning algorithm with two hidden layers. A sigmoid transfer function was developed and found to be suitable for analyzing the compressibility of composite powders with the least error.     Inverse method and artificial neural network were employed in modeling the rheological behavior of the AZ61 Mg alloy. The hot deformation behavior of these alloys was investigated by compression tests in the temperature range 250-350 °C and strain rate range 0.0005-0.1 s-1. Investigation of stress-strain curves and microstructure of the compression specimen illustrate occurrence of dynamic recrystallization. To determining parameters of two suggested constitutive equations global optimization technique, genetic algorithm, was used.     Background: Most dentists complain of musculoskeletal disorders which can be caused by prolonged static posture lack of suitable rest and other physical and psychological problems. Objective: We evaluated a chair with a new ergonomic design which incorporated forward leaning chest and arm supports.     Abstract
    Hot deformation behaviour of as-extruded Al-5vol% Al 2O 3 nanocomposite was investigated at temperatures range 350 to 450°C and initial strain rates of 5.5 × 10 -4 to 10 -1 s -1 and compared with those of monolithic (unreinforced) aluminium. Both extruded materials exhibited work-softening during hot deformation. The results showed that with the addition of 5 vol% alumina nanoparticles with an average particle size of 35 nm, a significant increase in compressive strength of aluminium was obtained.     The aim of this study was to estimate the test-retest reliability of some commonly used center of pressure measures in postural control investigations of sport injuries under the diverse stressful postural conditions. Twelve patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury were evaluated on two separate sessions.     This research focused on the corrosion resistance and microstructure of hybrid additively manufactured (HAM) samples of AISI 420/CX (420/CX SS) stainless steels. Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and Mott–Schottky analyses as well as the electrochemical noise (EN) technique were used to evaluate the electrochemical behavior of the as-built and heat-treated HAM parts in NaCl solution. The results showed a more protective passive layer formed on the CX SS side.
