Light Induced Curing of TiO2 Mesoporous Layer Utilized in Perovskite Solar Cells

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zamanpour, Fahimeh (Author) ; Taghavinia, Nima (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The efficiencies of perovskite solar cells have increased rapidly in recent years and reached about 22%. Which hopes to make this type of solar cell more functional. In the normal structure of perovskite solar cells, the presence of mesoporous TiO2 mesoporous layer has increased sustainability and efficiency. To create this layer, a common method is placing the sample in a furnace for 30 minutes at 450°C-500°C. Using the furnace, in addition to being time consuming, has a high energy consumption. In this study, we tried to create a TiO2 mesoporous layer with the help of lighting. To create TiO2 mesoporous layer, What causes porosity in the layer is the removal of ethyl cellulose and create...

Electricity generation, desalination and microalgae cultivation in a biocathode-microbial desalination cell

    , Article Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering ; Volume 5, Issue 1 , 2017 , Pages 843-848 ; 22133437 (ISSN) Khazraee Zamanpour, M ; Kariminia, H. R ; Vosoughi, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2017
    Abstract
Recently, microalgae has received a high attention for application in bioelectrochemical systems due to its potential to be used for oxygen generation and biodiesel production. In this study performance of algal biocathode in a microbial desalination cell (MDC) was evaluated against air cathode and biocathode microbial fuel cell (MFC). Effluent of a dairy wastewater treatment plant with COD of 1000 mg l-1 was utilized as substrate in the anode and the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris was inoculated in the cathode using a synthetic culture media. Experiments were conducted using two different saline water concentrations including 15 g l-1 (MDC-1) and 35 g l-1 (MDC-2) in a desalination cell and...

Fabrication of a Tactile Sensor Based on Triboelectric Nanogenerators

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Zamanpour, Fahimeh (Author) ; Mohammadpour, Raheleh (Supervisor) ; Sasanpour, Pezhman (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Humans need the five senses to understand and interact constructively with their surrounding environment; in the world of robots and intelligent systems, this is achieved using sensors. In the modern world, tactile sensors based on triboelectric effect play a prominent role in important application areas such as health monitoring, human-computer interaction, robotics, pressure mapping, and electronic signature. Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) are one type of energy harvesting systems that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. In these sensors, due to the contact and touch with the triboelectric material, an electric charge is generated and induced into the electrode, then...

Experimental Study of Water Desalination and Electricity Generation by Algae

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khazraee Zamanpour, Morvarid (Author) ; Kariminia, Hamid Reza (Supervisor) ; Vosoughi, Manouchehr (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Microbial Fuel cells (MFCs) can be used to generate bioenergy in the form of electricity by using microorganisms and natural biological processes. The need for a supply of fresh water in many parts of the world has led to the innovation of modifying an MFC into a Microbial Desalination Cell (MDC) that adds the function of desalination to the MFCs existing ability to generate electricity directly from wastewater. The goals of this project were to design and analyze the use of a Microbial Desalination Cell (MDC) for the generation of electricity while simultaneously desalinating saline water and also to evaluate performance of bio-cathode in MFCs and MDCs. The newly designed MDC incorporates...

Principles of Designing a Chair for Iranian Kitchen, Concerning Kansei Engineering Approach

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khyat Ardestani, Fahimeh Sadat (Author) ; Eshraghniaye Jahromi, Abdolhamid (Supervisor) ; Sadeghi Naeini, Hassan ($item.subfieldsMap.e)
    Abstract
Iranian women spend a lot of times in the kitchen area in order to have good effects on the family. Unfortunately, we see many of them are suffering from body injuries and particularly musculoskeletal disorders in their middle ages. Many factors cause such problems among which awkward postures are mentioned and with identifying these postures, corrective solutions could be proposed. In this study, firstly, relationship of body injuries with working in the kitchen area is considered, awkward postures are identified and expedient actions are suggested. The aim of this study is chosen designing a suitable task chair for kitchen among the proposed solutions. Then, chair specifications are...
