    Robust synchronization of perturbed Chen's fractional-order chaotic systems

    Abstract
    In this paper, based on a stability theorem proved for linear fractional-order systems, a scheme for robust synchronization of two perturbed fractional-order Chen systems is proposed. In the proposed scheme, both master and slave systems are considered to be involved with external disturbances having unknown values. It is analytically shown that any set of bounded external disturbances can be damped by the proposed method, where synchronization error will be forced and then kept inside a ball around the origin.     Abstract
    A dc-dc resonant converter has the advantage of overcoming switching losses and electromagnetic interference which are the main limitations of high frequency power converters. Nevertheless, the modeling and stability analysis of dc-dc resonant converters are considerably more complex than pulsewidth modulation counterparts. The conventional averaged linearized model of the resonant converter has limitations due to averaging and linearization. First of all, the linearized model has large modeling error in presence of large variations of reference voltage and input voltage.     Abstract
    Transparency is a measure of performance in haptic devices. In order to improve transparency and reduce the difference between the impedance transmitted to the user and the target impedance it is necessary to compensate for the dynamics of the haptic device. Due to stability reasons improvement of transparency is limited.     Abstract
    An integrated procedure for mathematical modeling and power control balance for a SPA (Split Parallel Architecture) hydraulic hybrid vehicle is presented in this paper. Dynamic mathematical model of the powertrain is constructed firstly, which includes five modules: diesel engine, traction motor, starter, loading pump and accumulator. Based on the mathematic model of control modes a stability analysis is done. For some control modes a Sliding Mode Control is designed, which uses full-states closed-loop feedback.     Abstract
    This paper presents a stability analysis for fractal cracks. First, the Westergaard stress functions are proposed for semi-infinite and finite smooth cracks embedded in the stress fields associated with the corresponding self-affine fractal cracks. These new stress functions satisfy all the required boundary conditions and according to Wnuk and Yavari's (2003 Eng. Fract. Mech. 70 1659-74) embedded crack model they are used to derive the stress and displacement fields generated around a fractal crack.
