Abstract
The main objective of this article is to estimate the seismological source parameters of Silakhor earthquake which happened on March 31, 2006, in the southern part of Iran. The Empirical Green's Function approach was used for simulating the main shock and the well known Genetic Algorithm was utilized for modifying the seismological source parameters. The Kostrov slip function was adopted in the model due to its ability in more accurately modeling the rupture process. The selected station was sufficiently far away from the causative source so that the near source problems would not effect on the simulated time series. The GA process compares the elastic response spectra with 5% damping ratio,...

Abstract
Landslides have disastrous influence on buried pipeline operation. In order to overcome this phenomenon, many retrofitting solutions have been proposed in literature and practice. This paper concentrates on the solutions which deal with pipe thickness change and rerouting method. As an answer to this,ABAQUS FE program has been used for numerical modeling. Soil-pipe interaction was modeled as hard and frictional contact in normal and tangential directions respectively. Typical geotechnical parameters of Tehran soil and predicted acceleration time history, compatible with Tehran geological condition, have been introduced to program for numerical calculations. Usefulness of two basic proposed...

Abstract
A novel optimization method based on Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) for simulating endurance time (ET) excitations was proposed. The ET excitations are monotonically intensifying acceleration time histories that are used as dynamic loading. Simulation of ET excitations by using evolutionary algorithms has been challenging due to the presence of a large number of decision variables that are highly correlated due to the dynamic nature of the problem. Optimal parameter values of the ICA algorithm for simulating ETEFs were evaluated and were used to simulate ET excitations. In order to increase the capability of the ICA and provide further search in the optimization space, this...
