    , Article International Journal of Electrochemical Science ; Vol.3, Issue 10 , September , 2008 , PP. 1092-1107 ; 14523981 Shafiei, H. (Hadi) ; Haqgu, M. (Mohammad) ; Nematollahi, D. (Davood) ; Gholami, M. R. (Mohammad Reza) ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Electrochemical oxidation of acetaminophen (N–acetyl–p–aminophenol) (1) has been studied in the presence of dimethylamine (2) as a nucleophile in aqueous solution, by means of cyclic voltammetry and controlled-potential coulometry. The results indicate the participation of electrochemically generated N-acetyl-p-quinoneimine (1a) in Michael reaction with dimethylamine (2). Based on ECE mechanism, the observed homogeneous rate constant (kobs) of the above mentioned reaction is estimated by comparing the experimental cyclic voltammograms with the digital simulated results. Further more; kinetics and mechanism of the reaction were studied with ab initio calculation, Monte Carlo and QM/MM...

    Abstract
In this research, we focused on demonstration of features and advantages of supercritical fluids technology to formation of fine particles (nano and micro scales) from bulk materials (solid) and synthesized metal oxides nanoparticles. Therefore, using two different fluids, carbon dioxide and water, and two completely different methods, the Rapid expansion of supercritical solution and supercritical hydrothermal, were used to produce fine particles of drug (acetaminophen) and nano metal oxide (zirconium dioxide and bismuth ferrite). The summary of this research are as follows:1. The solubility of acetaminophen in SuperCritical-Carbon Dioxide (SC-CO2) with and without menthol as a cosolvent...

    Abstract
The solubility of acetaminophen in SuperCritical-Carbon Dioxide (SC- CO 2) with and without menthol as a cosolvent was measured at various temperatures (313, 328 and 343) K, and within pressures ranging from (10 to 25) MPa. It should be stated that the cosolvent, menthol, has chiral isomers with different melting points. Therefore, the effects of both menthol (I) with a lower melting point and menthol (II) with a higher melting point, as cosolvents on the solubility of acetaminophen in SC- CO 2, were studied. The experimental data collected in this work were obtained using a static flow apparatus. The experiments were replicated at least three times and the data reported are the average of...

    Abstract
In the present paper, the use of a carbon paste electrode modified by 2,2′-[1,2 buthanediylbis (nitriloethylidyne)]-bis-hydroquinone (BH) and TiO2 nanoparticles prepared by a simple and rapid method was described. The modified electrode showed an excellent character for electrocatalytic oxidization of norepinephrine (NE), acetaminophene (AC) and folic acid (FA). Using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), a highly selective and simultaneous determination of NE, AC and FA has been explored at the modified electrode. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) peak currents of NE, AC and FA increased linearly with their concentration at the ranges of 4.0-1100.0 μM, 12.5-500.0 μM and 200.0-3200.0 μM,...

    Abstract
Spectrophotometric analysis method based on the combination of the principal component analysis (PCA) with the feed-forward neural network (FFNN) and the radial basis function network (RBFN) was proposed for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol (PAC) and p-aminophenol (PAP). This technique relies on the difference between the kinetic rates of the reactions between analytes and silver nitrate as the oxidizing agent in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) which is the stabilizer. The reactions are monitored at the analytical wavelength of 420 nm of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) band of the formed silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs). Under the optimized conditions, the...

    Abstract
A carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with 2,2′-[1,2 butanediylbis(nitriloethylidyne)]-bis-hydroquinone (BBNBH) and TiO2 nanoparticles was used for the sensitive voltammetric determination of epinephrine (EP). The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward EP and acetaminophen (AC) were investigated by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (CV and DPV). The results showed an efficient catalytic activity of the electrode for the electrooxidation of EP, which leads to a reduction in its overpotential by more than 270 mV. The effects of pH and potential sweep rate on the mechanism of the electrode process were investigated. The modified electrode exhibits an...

    Abstract
A carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with thionine immobilized on multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), was prepared for simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and acetaminophen (AC) in the presence of isoniazid (INZ). The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward AA, AC and INZ were investigated by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (CV and DPV). The results showed an efficient catalytic role for the electro-oxidation of AA and AC, leading to a remarkable peak resolution (∼303 mV) for two compounds. On the other hand, the presence of INZ, which is considered as important drug interference for AC, does not affect the voltammetric responses...

    Abstract
A sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor was fabricated via the drop-casting of carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) suspension onto a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The application of this sensor was investigated in simultaneous determination of acetaminophen (ACE) and tramadol (TRA) drugs in pharmaceutical dosage form and ACE determination in human plasma. In order to study the electrochemical behaviors of the drugs, cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric studies of ACE and TRA were carried out at the surfaces of the modified GCE (MGCE) and the bare GCE. The dependence of peak currents and potentials on pH, concentration and the potential scan rate were investigated for these compounds...
