Abstract
Cancer is one of the most critical diseases in the last century. Numerous efforts have been conducted to treat cancer. According to the report of World Health Organization, one death of every six deaths is due to this disease. More than 100 cancer types have been identified. Among these types, CNS tumor is one of the most critical cancer types with high mortality (65.9%). Various methods have been applied to treat this disease, but still, treatment efficiency is low. In this thesis, the effect of ultrasound waves on drug delivery into CNS tumors was evaluated using both experimental and simulation devices. Due to complicated implementation of IP multicast, application layer multicast has attracted the attention of researchers. Tree overlay has some challenges such as resiliency problems caused by peer churns and also network resources may not be efficiently used. Mesh overlay doesn't have such problems, but has a high delivery latency and overhead caused by pull mechanism. Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a novel algorithm for rate allocation in media streaming P2P networks where multimedia contents are distributed among network members and streamed toward any requesting peer. The proposed algorithm is based on ant-colony optimization. It is capable of handling network dynamism, which is an inherent property of unstructured P2P networks. Another advantage of our algorithm is its ability to get over uncertainties in network state information, particularly the rate of supplying peers that could happen due to lack of accurate measurements. Abstract
Almost all existing multi-description coding (MDC) schemes are designed for media streaming over Internet. In this work, a wavelet-based video MDC technique is introduced that fits the criteria of media streaming over peer-to-peer networks. Our proposed method assigns descriptions to the senders due to their characteristic (i.e. bandwidth and availability). In contrast to traditional MDC, different descriptions in the proposed method have different importance in remaking the original media. Our simulation results show considerable improvement of video quality at the receiver (up to 10 dB) as compared to the state-of-the-art. ©2007 IEEE

Abstract
One of the man concerns of peer-to-peer video streaming over the internet is the cumulative impact of the Internet packet loss due to the decoding dependency of the compressed video frames. In this paper we study the efficiency of various packet loss recovery policies that can be used in peer-to-peer streaming. Our analytical and simulation results show how different packet loss recovery policies can be effective for peer-to-peer video streaming. © 2007 IEEE

This paper presents a mesh-pull peer-to-peer (P2P) live video streaming system. The proposed XOR-based Network Coding (XOR-NC) system is based on GIA protocol and introduces new search and answer data formats for chunks which are used by the network coding algorithm for exchanging data among peers. The search message contains the XORed GOP (Group of Picture) keys and some meta-data such as search key. Our algorithm is based on ant-colony optimization and capable of handling network changes which occur quite often in unstructured P2P networks. The suggested algorithm does not need any information about the topology of the network.
