    Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens LFB112 on the growth performance, carcass traits, immune response, and serum biochemical parameters of broiler chickens. A total of 396 1 day old, mixed-sex commercial Ross 308 broilers with similar body weights were allotted into six treatment groups. The assigned groups were the CON group (basal diet with no supplement), AB (antibiotics) group (basal diet + 150 mg of aureomycin/kg), C+M group (basal diet + 5 × 108 CFU/kg B. amyloliquefaciens LFB112 powder with vegetative cells + metabolites), C group (basal diet + 5 × 108 CFU/kg B. amyloliquefaciens LFB112 vegetative cell powder with removed metabolites), M group...

    Abstract
Objective: Crohn's disease (CD) is one the important illnesses can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract. CD is not easily diagnosed using the clinical tests. Thus, the discovery of proper methods would be a major step towards CD diagnosis. The aim of this study was to seek the metabolic biomarkers causes of CD compare to control group. Materials and Methods: In present study, we employed metabolic profiling using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1HNMR) to find metabolites in serum which are helpful for the diagnosis of CD. Classification of CD and healthy subject was done using classification and regression trees (CART). The metabolites that caused changes in people...

Gas chromatographic fingerprint analysis of secondary metabolites of Stachys lanata (Stachys byzantine C. Koch) combined with antioxidant activity modelling using multivariate chemometric methods

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1602 , 2019 , Pages 432-440 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Aminfar, P ; Abtahi, M ; Parastar, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier B.V  2019
    Abstract
    S. lanata has been traditionally used as a medicinal plant due to its various biological activities such as antioxidant activity. Therefore, identification and quality control studies of this plant are of great importance. To this end, gas chromatography (GC) combined with chemometrics was proposed for fingerprint analysis of S. lanata samples. This study sought to classify GC fingerprints of twenty-eight S. lanata samples from eight different regions of Iran and more importantly, to correlate fingerprints to the antioxidant activity to select S. lanata volatile antioxidant markers. S. lanata samples were classified into five and three classes using partial least squares-discriminant...

Graphene-based nanomaterials in fighting the most challenging viruses and immunogenic disorders

    , Article ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering ; Volume 8, Issue 1 , 2022 , Pages 54-81 ; 23739878 (ISSN) Ebrahimi, M ; Asadi, M ; Akhavan, O ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Viral diseases have long been among the biggest challenges for healthcare systems around the world. The recent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is an example of how complicated the situation can get if we are not prepared to combat a viral outbreak in time, which brings up the need for quick and affordable biosensing platforms and vast knowledge of potential antiviral effects and drug/gene delivery opportunities. The same challenges have also existed for nonviral immunogenic disorders. Nanomedicine is considered a novel candidate for effectively overcoming these worldwide challenges. Among the versatile nanomaterials commonly used in biomedical applications, graphene has recently...
