    Abstract
    We study the minimally and non-minimally coupled scalar field models as possible alternatives for dark energy (DE), the mysterious energy component that is driving the accelerated expansion of the universe. After discussing the dynamics at both the background and perturbation level, we confront the two models with the latest cosmological data. After obtaining updated constraints on their parameters, we perform model selection using the basic information criteria. We found that the ACDM model is strongly favoured when the local determination of the Hubble constant is not considered and that this statement is weakened once local H0 is included in the analysis.     Abstract
    Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) encompass a wide range of compounds containing carbon–fluorine bonds. Due the strength of this bond and the high electronegativity of fluorine atoms, PFAS display stability, wettability and other characteristics that are unique for industrial applications and products. However, PFAS induce adverse effects on the environment and human health. Here we review the chemistry, synthesis, properties, analysis, occurrence in water, filtration, removal and oxydation of PFAS.     In this work, we investigate the MOdified Gravity (MOG) theory for dynamics of the Universe and compare the results with the Lambda cold dark matter (ΛCDM) cosmology. We study the background cosmological properties of the MOG model and structure formation at the linear perturbation level. We compare the two models with the currently available cosmological data by using statistical Bayesian analyses.     Abstract
    In this paper, a novel analytical approximation to the nonlinear Duffing-harmonic oscillator is presented. The variational iteration method (VIM) is used to obtain some accurate analytical results for frequency.     Analytical prediction of the main oscillation power and spurious levels in optoelectronic oscillators

    Abstract
    We use a nonlinear analytic approach to predict the main oscillation mode power and spurious levels in ultrapure microwave optoelectronic oscillators (OEOs). This approach takes into account N simultaneously mode falling inside the RF filter bandwidth and calculates all the dominant InterModulation Products (IMPs) that fall in the fundamental zone. We show that nonlinear microwave photonic links exhibit the capture effect. By considering this effect, we derive analytical expressions that govern the behavior of the OEOs in the steady state. We find that when the small-signal open-loop gain is increased beyond a critical value, OEOs start a multimode operation from which the spurious levels...

    Abstract
    At the present research, a new analytical model is developed for the impact of a deformable blunt projectile to metallic targets using the plastic stress wave propagation theory and the momentum equations. At this model, the deformation of the projectile is considered, too. Also, the effects of dishing and plugging phenomena on failure of the target are investigated. All of the obtained results are compared with the experimental and other available analytical results where good agreement has been observed. The other outcome of this research is a new definition for the penetration stages which includes 9 ones. Motion equations are derived for each of these stages, accordingly

    A sheet of graphene under magnetic bias attains anisotropic surface conductivity, opening the door for realizing compact devices such as Faraday rotators, isolators and circulators. In this paper, an accurate and analytical method is proposed for a periodic array of graphene ribbons under magnetic bias. The method is based on integral equations governing the induced surface currents on the coplanar array of graphene ribbons. For subwavelength size ribbons subjected to an incident plane wave, the current distribution is derived leading to analytical expressions for the reflection/transmission coefficients.     Theoretical study of arrays of graphene ribbons is currently of high interest due to its potential application in beam splitters, absorbers, and polarizers. In this paper, an analytical method is presented for diffraction analysis of graphene ribbon arrays. Previous analytical studies were carried out in the regime where the lateral separation between the ribbons is much smaller than the wavelength of the incident wave. As such, they cannot be used to calculate the reflection coefficients of higher diffracted orders.     The electrochemical response of sodium levo-thyroxin (T4) at the surface of an edge plane pyrolytic graphite (EPPG) electrode is investigated using cyclic voltammetric technique in the presence of 0.1M HCl as supporting electrolyte. T4 underwent totally irreversible oxidation at this system and a well-defined peak at 821mV was obtained. Compared to the signals obtained in the optimized conditions at bare glassy carbon and carbon paste electrodes, the oxidation current of T4 at an EPPG electrode was greatly enhanced.     Consider a number of parallel queues, each with an arbitrary capacity and multiple identical exponential servers. The service discipline in each queue is first-come-first-served (FCFS).     Abstract
    In this paper, an analytical circuit model is proposed for 2-D arrays of graphene disks. First, we derive an analytical expression for the surface current density on a single graphene disk in the subwavelength regime, induced by a normally incident plane wave. The solution is then extended to 2-D arrays of graphene disks using perturbation theory. Finally, by applying appropriate boundary conditions, an R - L - C equivalent circuit of the structure is obtained. It is shown that both a single graphene disk and periodic array of graphene disks have dual capacitive-inductive nature. The results of the proposed model are in excellent agreement with those obtained by full-wave simulations

    Abstract
    An analytical model based on cohesive energy has been conducted to study the effects of edge, corner, and inward surface relaxation as varying parameters on melting temperature of nanoparticles. It is shown that taking into account the edge and corner (EC) atoms of nanoparticle, causes to drop melting temperature more, when compared to consider them the same as only surface atoms. This reduction is significant especially when the size of nanoparticle is below 10 nm. The results are supported by available experimental results of tin, lead and gold melting temperature (Tm). Finally, it is shown that inward relaxation increases melting temperature slightly

    A closed-form analytical computation of groundwater travel time (GWTT) for two-layer oceanic small island aquifers is developed assuming steady-state and sharp-interface conditions. The two-layer geology impacts on the GWTT are investigated using the developed analytical solution to achieve a greater transparency of such conceptualizations. The results demonstrate that the inclusion of geologic layering leads to large changes in the GWTT.
