Optimization of solid-phase microextraction of volatile phenols in water by a polyaniline-coated Pt-fiber using experimental design, Article Analytica Chimica Acta ; Volume 581, Issue 1 , 2007 , Pages 71-77 ; 00032670 (ISSN) ; Noroozian, E ; Jalali Heravi, M ; Mollahosseini, A ; Sharif University of Technology
Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled to gas chromatography (GC) was applied to the extraction of phenol and some of its volatile derivatives in water samples. The SPME fiber consisted of a thin layer of polyaniline, which was electrochemically coated on a fine Pt wire. The stability of the coating was such that it could be used at temperatures as high as 325 °C, without any deterioration. The effects of various parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were studied, simultaneously. From these, optimization of the extraction temperature, extraction time, coating thickness, sample pH, salt concentration and desorption time was carried out by means of a (26-2) fractional factorial...

The adsorption of chromium compounds from solutions by a composite of polyaniline/poly ethylene glycol (PANi/PEG) was investigated in this study. Experiments were conducted in batch mode under various operational conditions including agitation time, solution pH, PANi/PEG dose and initial concentration of chromium salts. Results showed that concentration of PEG at synthesizing stage has a significant effect on the capacity of produced composite for removal of chromium. Morphologically, PANi/PEG composite is closely dependent on the concentration of PEG. Maximum removal of hexavalent chromium was experienced when 2. g/L of PEG was used in synthesis of PANi/PEG. Removal of hexavalent chromium...
An aniline-based fiber coating for solid phase microextraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from water followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1152, Issue 1-2 , 2007 , Pages 168-174 ; 00219673 (ISSN) ; Babanezhad, E ; Eshaghi, A ; Sharif University of Technology
A fiber coating from polyaniline (PANI) was electrochemically prepared and employed for solid phase microextraction (SPME) of some polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from water samples. The PANI film was directly electrodeposited on the platinum wire surface in sulfuric acid solution using cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The applicability of this coating was assessed employing a laboratory-made SPME device and gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the extraction of some PAHs from the headspace of aqueous samples. Application of wider potential range in CV led to a PANI with more stability against the temperature. The homogeneity and the porous surface structure of the...
A novel magnetic poly(aniline-naphthylamine)-based nanocomposite for micro solid phase extraction of rhodamine B, Article Analytica Chimica Acta ; Volume 794 , 2013 , Pages 38-46 ; 00032670 (ISSN) ; Daliri, R ; Roostaie, A ; Sharif University of Technology
A novel Fe3O4-poly(aniline-naphthylamine)-based nanocomposite was synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization process as a magnetic sorbent for micro solid phase extraction. The scanning electron microscopy images of the synthesized nanocomposite revealed that the copolymer posses a porous structure with diameters less than 50nm. The extraction efficiency of this sorbent was examined by isolation of rhodamine B, a mutagenic and carcinogenic dye, from aquatic media in dispersion mode. Among different synthesized polymers, Fe3O4/poly(aniline-naphthylamine) nanocomposite showed a prominent efficiency. Parameters including the desorption solvent, amount of sorbent, desorption time, sample...
Multiresidue determination of pesticides from aquatic media using polyaniline nanowires network as highly efficient sorbent for microextraction in packed syringe, Article Analytica Chimica Acta ; Volume 740 , 2012 , Pages 43-49 ; 00032670 (ISSN) ; Alipour, N ; Ayazi, Z ; Sharif University of Technology
A simple, rapid and sensitive method based on microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS), in combination with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed. Polyaniline (PANI) nanowires network was synthesized and used as sorbent of MEPS for the multiresidue determination of selected analytes from triazine, organochlrorine and organophosphorous pesticides in aqueous samples. The PANI nanowires network was prepared using soft template technique and its characterization was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The presence of micelles in this methodology showed to be an important parameter in shaping the growing polymer. Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTAB) was used...
Membrane protected conductive polymer as micro-SPE device for the determination of triazine herbicides in aquatic media, Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 33, Issue 8 , 2010 , Pages 1132-1138 ; 16159306 (ISSN) ; Khalilian, F ; Naderi, M ; Babanezhad, E ; Sharif University of Technology
A micro-SPE technique was developed by fabricating a rather small package including a polypropylene membrane shield containing the appropriate sorbent. The package was used for the extraction of some triazine herbicides from aqueous samples. Solvent desorption was subsequently performed in a microvial and an aliquot of extractant was injected into GC-MS. Various sorbents including aniline-ortho-phenylene diamine copolymer, newly synthesized, polypyrrole, multiwall carbon nanotube, C18 and charcoal were examined as extracting media. Among them, conductive polymers exhibited better performance. Influential parameters including extraction and desorption time, desorption solvent and the ionic...
Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1433 , 2016 , Pages 34-40 ; 00219673 (ISSN) ; Khanipour, P ; Roostaie, A ; Sharif University of Technology
In this study, a fast and sensitive flow injection μ-solid phase extraction (FI-μ-SPE) technique based on an electrospun polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposite in conjunction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed. The PANI-based nanocomposite was synthesized by electrospinning of a solution containing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/PANI. The majority of PVA template was subsequently removed from the whole PVA/PANI nanofibers blend by exposing the electrospun nanocomposite to hot water. The homogeneity, porosity and characterization of the electrospun nanofibers were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Due to...

A new unbreakable solid phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coating based on aniline-silica nanocomposite was electrodeposited on a stainless steel wire. The electropolymerization process was carried out at a constant deposition potential, applied to the corresponding aqueous electrolyte containing aniline and silica nanoparticles. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed the non-smooth and the porous surface structure of the prepared nanocomposite. The applicability of the new fiber coating was examined by headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) of some environmentally important polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), as model compounds, from aqueous samples....

Background: Researchers are trying to study the mechanism of neural stem cells (NSCs) differentiation to oligodendrocyte-like cells (OLCs) as well as to enhance the selective differentiation of NSCs to oligodendrocytes. However, the limitation in nerve tissue acces-sibility to isolate the NSCs as well as their differentiation toward oligodendrocytes is still challenging. Purpose: In the present study, a hybrid polycaprolactone (PCL)-gelatin nanofiber scaffold mimicking the native extracellular matrix and axon morphology to direct the differentiation of bone marrow-derived NSCs to OLCs was introduced. Materials and Methods: In order to achieve a sustained release of T3, this factor was...
