    Abstract
The molecular behavior of some aniline derivatives as corrosion inhibitors of iron and copper in acidic media (HCl and H2 S O4) were investigated quantum-electrochemically by some recently developed models based on density functional theory and cluster/polarized continuum approaches. In this regard, electrical dipole moment, charges on hetero atoms and acidic hydrogen, electronic chemical potential, and extent of charge transfer were determined for both neutral and protonated forms of molecules inside an electrical double layer and correlated to their inhibitory powers. Good correlations were observed for both acidic media. The results were discussed via ion-pair hypothesis and deprotonation...

    Abstract
A novel magnetic heterogeneous copper catalyst was synthesized by immobilization ofcopper ion onto the triazole functionalized Fe3O4. The catalyst was fully characterized by FTIR, TGA, CHN, SEM, TEM, EDX and atomic adsorption spectroscopy. The resulting catalystwas used in the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles via one-pot three component reaction of alkynes, alkyl halides, sodium azides under green condition. The catalyst was reused for ten times andno significant loss of activity was observed. Supported gold (III) on poly(ionic liquid) coated on magnetic nanoparticles produced a highly active, stablerecoverable and high loading for the synthesis of propargylamines (A3 coupling reaction) under...

    Abstract
An easily synthesized fluorescent probe for detecting copper in aqueous samples, with a short response time and at neutral pH, has been investigated. Through the chelation of Cu2+ ions or by binding to CuO nanoparticles, the fluorescence emission of the 2-(aminomethyl)aniline derivative H2L is quenched by over 50%. Spectroscopic determination of the association constants of H2L with some metal ions showed that the ligand has a higher affinity toward Cu2+ than toward other d-block metal ions. The comparative bonding ability of the aniline-based fluorescent probe in d-block metal complexes was studied in solution by a combination of UV-Vis, 1H NMR and mass spectrometry analyses. Besides these,...

    Abstract
Catalysts as the dynamo of chemical reactions along with solvents play paramount roles in organic transformations in long-lasting modes. Thus, developing effective and biobased catalysts in nontoxic solvents is highly in demand. In this report, carbon quantum dots (CQDs) functionalized with-lysine (Lys-CQDs) were generated from entirely nature-derived materials; they were demonstrated to be a promising catalyst for C-N bond formation in choline chloride urea (ChCl/U), a natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES). Among a number of synthesized CQDs, Lys-CQD turned out to be a powerful catalyst in the model reaction with aniline to afford phenyl urea. This type of transformation is important...

HRP-dendron nanoparticles: The efficient biocatalyst for enzymatic polymerization of poly(2,5-dimethoxyaniline)

    , Article Journal of Molecular Catalysis B: Enzymatic ; Volume 90 , June , 2013 , Pages 139-143 ; 13811177 (ISSN) Khosravi, A ; Vossoughi, M ; Shahrokhian, S ; Alemzadeh, I ; Sharif University of Technology
    2013
    Abstract
Synthesis of poly(2,5-dimethoxyanilie) (PDMA) catalyzed by nano reengineered horseradish peroxidase (HRP) with dendritic macromolecules, was studied as a function of reaction media. UV-vis, gel permeation chromatography and conductivity measurements were used to explain how the reaction media compositions influence the physical properties of PDMA. Nanostructured PDMA was also synthesized by oxidative polymerization in a novel and green bi-catalyst system involving HRP and ferric chloride. FTIR and UV-vis analysis confirmed the formation of emeraldine salt state of PDMA. The thermal stability of reengineered HRP granted further studies on the polymerization using bi-catalyst system at...

Membrane protected conductive polymer as micro-SPE device for the determination of triazine herbicides in aquatic media

    , Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 33, Issue 8 , 2010 , Pages 1132-1138 ; 16159306 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Khalilian, F ; Naderi, M ; Babanezhad, E ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A micro-SPE technique was developed by fabricating a rather small package including a polypropylene membrane shield containing the appropriate sorbent. The package was used for the extraction of some triazine herbicides from aqueous samples. Solvent desorption was subsequently performed in a microvial and an aliquot of extractant was injected into GC-MS. Various sorbents including aniline-ortho-phenylene diamine copolymer, newly synthesized, polypyrrole, multiwall carbon nanotube, C18 and charcoal were examined as extracting media. Among them, conductive polymers exhibited better performance. Influential parameters including extraction and desorption time, desorption solvent and the ionic...

A flow injection μ-solid phase extraction system based on electrospun polyaniline nanocomposite

    Abstract
In this study, a fast and sensitive flow injection μ-solid phase extraction (FI-μ-SPE) technique based on an electrospun polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposite in conjunction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed. The PANI-based nanocomposite was synthesized by electrospinning of a solution containing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/PANI. The majority of PVA template was subsequently removed from the whole PVA/PANI nanofibers blend by exposing the electrospun nanocomposite to hot water. The homogeneity, porosity and characterization of the electrospun nanofibers were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Due to...

A metal organic framework-polyaniline nanocomposite as a fiber coating for solid phase microextraction

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1431 , 2016 , Pages 27-35 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Javanmardi, H ; Abbasi, A ; Banihashemi, S ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A metal organic framework-polyaniline (MOF/PANI) nanocomposite was electrodeposited on a stainless steel wire and used as a solid phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coating. The electropolymerization process was carried out under a constant deposition potential and applied to the corresponding aqueous electrolyte containing aniline and MOF particles. The employment of MOFs with their large and small cages and 3-D structures in synthesizing a nanocomposite was assumed to be efficient constitutes to induce more non-smooth and porous structures, approved by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. Three different MOFs were incorporated to synthesize the desired nanocomposites and the...

    Abstract
Background: Researchers are trying to study the mechanism of neural stem cells (NSCs) differentiation to oligodendrocyte-like cells (OLCs) as well as to enhance the selective differentiation of NSCs to oligodendrocytes. However, the limitation in nerve tissue acces-sibility to isolate the NSCs as well as their differentiation toward oligodendrocytes is still challenging. Purpose: In the present study, a hybrid polycaprolactone (PCL)-gelatin nanofiber scaffold mimicking the native extracellular matrix and axon morphology to direct the differentiation of bone marrow-derived NSCs to OLCs was introduced. Materials and Methods: In order to achieve a sustained release of T3, this factor was...
