    Abstract
    Although an early and influential review led to the often-cited conclusion that color vision is rare among mammals, more recent findings suggest that it is actually widespread. According to Jacobs (1993, 2004), all non-nocturnal mammalian species that have been adequately examined show some color vision capacity, although the degree varies enormously. Data on the presence and characteristics of color vision in the horse, however, remain sparse (and almost none in the case of ponies).     The Jajrood River watershed is on of the main drinking water resurces of Tehran, the capital city of Iran. In addition it provides many recreational usages. However, a variety of microbial pollutions is commonly perecived in the Jajrood River, among them a high concentration of coliform group bacteria that has caused strong concerns. In this article, different aspects of microbial pollution as well as the main microbial pollution sources in the region are discussed.     Abstract
    Sarabs (spring-fed pools) are an important natural freshwater resource in Iran where they are used for potable, agricultural and recreational purposes. A survey of 17 Sarabs was undertaken in the Province of Kermanshah to obtain data on their water quality and biology which would help inform future management of these multifunctional resources. These Sarabs differed greatly in size (50-30000m2 surface area) and were situated at altitudes of between 622 and 1697 m above sea level. The average dissolved oxygen content and pH of the water was between 4.5 and 10mg O2/1, and 6.95 and 7.6 respectively.     Abstract
    Hepcidin is a peptide hormone that plays an important role in iron metabolism. We have produced a recombinant mouse hepcidin-1 by using baculovirus expression system. Its expression yield was 25 μg/ml when cell culture media were supplemented with a protease inhibitor cocktail. The recombinant mouse hepcidin-1 and synthetic human hepcidin-25 had similar effects on reducing ferroportin expression in J774A cell line and in peritoneal macrophages. However, synthetic human hepcidin-25 was more efficient than recombinant mouse hepcidin-1 in reducing iron concentration in blood circulation (p < 0.01)

    Abstract
    Heave and pitch motion of an oscillating airfoil in uniform flow will cause generation of forwarding thrust. Applying a combination of these two motions on flexible foil, one can increase thrust and therefore the efficiency. This is the way that most fishes and other flying animals uses to consume less energy. In this paper, hydrodynamic forces and efficiency of an oscillating airfoil is investigated. A code is developed based on potential flow formulation in combination with Time Stepping Method (TSM) with nonlinear free shear layer dynamic approach to predict the wake behind the lifting bodies.     Vaccines require a period of at least three months for clinical trials, hence a method that can identify elicitation of immune response a few days after the first dose is a necessity.
