Study on the Properties of the Cationic Antistatic Polyurethane-based Coating

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khodadoust, Yasaman (Author) ; Dolati, Abolghasem (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study, cationic polyurethane resin was synthesized by use of the reflux technique under N2 atmosphere. At first TDI was reacted with GMS to form prepolymer with terminal –NCO, also DBTDL was used as catalyst. This prepolymer was then reacted for chain-lengthening with N-methyl diethanolamine compound containing tertiary nitrogen atoms. The chain-lengthened product was then converted into an ammonium compound or cationic compound, by reacting with HCl as reactive hydrogen containing compound. The structure of product was studied by FT-IR spectroscopy. Then the cationic product was used as adduct resin with commercial tow-components polyurethane with proportion of 25%wt, 50%wt and...

A Study on Mechanical, Electrical Properties and Morphology of Ps/Eoc/Cnt Nanocomposite Blends

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Cheraghi, Mohammad Saeed (Author) ; Pircheraghi, Gholamreza (Supervisor) ; Seyed Reyhani, Morteza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, the development of different polymer blend nanocomposites is of great importance for achieving electrical and antistatic properties for various applications such as auto parts and the packaging industry. Immiscible polymer blends with conductive nanoparticles such as carbon nanotube, graphene, etc. can reach the conductivity threshold with low amounts of nanoparticles and produce desired electrical properties. In the present study, we have attempted to develop a polystyrene(PS)/ethylene-octene copolymer(EOC)/carbon nanotube(CNT) blend nanocomposite with suitable electrical conductivity. The compounding was performed by melt mixing at two weight percent of 80/20 and 50/50 (PS/EOC)...

Optimization of Morphology in Order to Produce Polypropylene Antistatic Fiber Containing Polyaniline

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khosronezhad, Fatemeh (Author) ; Bagheri, Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study, the synthesis conditions of polyaniline were optimized in order to produce a blend based on polypropylene (PP) containing polyaniline (PANI) with the electrical conductivity in the antistatic range. A form of PANI that has adequate electrical conductivity and thermal stability, which is suitable for melt-mixing and melt-spinning conditions, was synthesized. Thermal stability and electrical conductivity of polyaniline were investigated by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential calorimetric analysis (DSC) and high-temperature electrical conductivity. It was found that the synthesized PANI has required thermal stability and electrical conductivity (106 ohm.cm) at the...

Synthesis and Investigation of Antistatic Coating Properties Based on Tin Oxide by Sol-Gel Method

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Zakerizadeh, Ali Mohammad (Author) ; Dolati, Abolghasem (Supervisor) ; Abdollah Afshar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In order to prevent electrostatic attraction on non-conductive surfaces, the most practical solution is to put antistatic coatings to reduce surface resistance. Nano tin oxide coatings are designed to produce surfaces with antistatic properties in the resistance range of 108-1012 Ω/cm. In this project, using a simple method, low temperature, without heat treatment and without the use of additive (dopant), tin oxide films with antistatic property were placed on the glass. Further, in order to obtain a coating with a suitable morphology and structure to increase the surface conductivity, the synthesis of tin oxide using the sol-gel method at ambient temperature was used. And to place the...
