    Abstract
In this work two shapes of silver nanostructures including silver nanowires and silver nanocubeswere synthesized by polyol method. Silver nanostructures were characterized by SEM, XRD and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Afterwards the morphology-dependent electrocatalyticperformance of these nanocrystals on the differential pulse behavior of naltrexone (NAL) was investigated. To this aim the differential pulse voltammetric behavior of NAL on a glassy carbon electrode modified with electrochemical deposited gold nanoparticles conjugated with different shapes of silver nanostructures and nafion was investigated. It was proved that silver nanowires show more effective electrocatalytic activity toward...

Electrochemical determination of atorvastatin on nano-scaled polypyrrole film

    , Article Bioelectrochemistry ; Vol. 98 , 2014 , pp. 1-10 ; ISSN: 15675394 Kamalzadeh, Z ; Shahrokhian, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Pyrrole was electro-polymerized on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) coated with a thin film of carbon nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon nanoparticles (CNPs), nanodiamond-graphite (NDG) or graphite nanopowder (GNP). Morphology, thickness, stability and loading of the polypyrrole (PPY) film were significantly affected by the structure and morphology of the sub-layer of carbon nanomaterials. Electrochemical oxidation of atorvastatin (ATOR) was investigated. Under the optimized conditions, a significant increase in the peak current (compared to other modified electrodes and bare GCE) and a negative shift in the peak potential (compared to bare GCE) were...

A fuzzy expert system for prescribing atorvastatin optimum dose

    Abstract
Introduction: Today, Fuzzy expert systems have helped physicians in cases of uncertainty in medical decision making for prescribing drugs. Narrowing of coronary heart and reduction in heart blood flow are important causes of coronary heart disease (CHD). Control of blood lipid level is a routine treatment in CHD patients. But damage to liver is a common side effect of lipid lowering drug medication. Measurement of plasma Alanine aminotransferase level is considered as a marker of liver damage. The aim of this study was to determination of optimal dose of atorvastatin using Fuzzy expert system. Materials and Methods: in this study, Fuzzy expert system based on drug dose determination was...

    Abstract
Optical tweezers are proven indispensable single-cell micro-manipulation and mechanical phenotyping tools. In this study, we have used optical tweezers for measuring the viscoelastic properties of human red blood cells (RBCs). Comparison of the viscoelastic features of the healthy fresh and atorvastatin treated cells revealed that the drug softens the cells. Using a simple modeling approach, we proposed a molecular model that explains the drug-induced softening of the RBC membrane. Our results suggest that direct interactions between the drug and cytoskeletal components underlie the drug-induced softening of the cells. © 2018 Optical Society of America

    Abstract
Development of simple yet precise sensing platforms for rapid determination of biological species and drugs is of paramount importance, not only for analysis of pharmaceutical formulations during the production stage, but also in clinical practices and medical diagnosis. In the present research, we report on the electrochemical determination of atorvastatin (ATOR) by using silver nanowires/gold-modified glassy carbon electrode (Ag NWs/Au/GCE). The modified electrode was constructed through a two-step procedure in which narrow silver nanowires synthesized via a polyol method are drop casted on a pre-modified GCE with electrodeposited gold particles. The results of XRD analysis indicated the...
