    Abstract
    Density currents are occurred as a result of the intrusion of a dense fluid into a fluid with a different density. Density difference is the main agent of current’s movement. These currents are observed in nature numerously and they are one of the main reasons of the erosion and transportation of deposition in oceans, seas and rivers. Investigation of these currents is of great importance especially in dams’ reservoir as major cause of deposition and reduction of reservoir’s efficency.     Abstract
    The height of a dense layer underflow is defined as the interface between a dyed saline solution fluid and colorless ambient fluid. In this paper, the density current height or vision height of three-dimensional saline water under pure water is measured empirically, and the relation of this parameter with the location of maximum velocity is investigated. Because of the absence of a clear interface between the dense underflow and pure water, researchers were unable to define a unique parameter for the evaluation of density current height.     Impacts of Water Level Rise and Fall of a Hypersaline Lake on Seawater Intrusion: Case of Lake Urmia, Iran

    Abstract
    Lake Urmia located in the NW of Iran, has lost 96 percent of its volume in 20 years and become a national crisis. During this shrinkage, the lake level has fallen by 8 m, and its concentration has increased up to 380 g/l. Regarding the vast area Lake Urmia basin is covered, the hydrological characteristics of the basin varies a lot, which affects the aquifers response to the seawater intrusion. In order to study the seawater intrusion in the lake’s aquifer, 18 cases with different hydraulic gradients, hydraulic conductivities and bathymetries were defined.     A large number of desalination plants have been established to overcome the drinkable water scarcity in the world. These plants produce saline water as effluent, which is often discharged into local sea water. One of the applicable methods to dispose these kinds of effluents is to install an inclined nozzle below the water’s surface.     Abstract
    Turbidity currents containing kaolin particles were studied experimentally in a channel and the velocity and concentration profiles were measured using an acoustic Doppler velocimeter. These experiments were performed to investigate the depositional behaviour of turbidity currents. The suspended sediment flux was evaluated by experimental and analytical methods and the results of these two methods were in a good agreement. To evaluate the suspended sediment flux, it was necessary to recognize the suspended sediment zone from the upper shear layer region and near the bed depositional area as well.
