    Viscosity prediction of ternary mixtures containing ILs using multi-layer perceptron artificial neural network

    Abstract
    Ionic liquids (ILs) have been considered as a good candidate to be replaced by the conventional solvent in recent years due to their potential consumptions and unique properties. In the present study, artificial neural network was used to predict the ternary viscosity of mixtures containing ILs. A collection of 729 experimental data points were gathered from the previously public shed literatures. Different topologies of a multilayer feed forward artificial neural network (MFFANN) were examined and optimum architecture was determined.     Abstract
    We report a new method of growing Mn-doped CdS (CdS:Mn) nanoparticles in an aqueous solution at boiling temperature. The idea is to use precursors that react only at high temperature, in order to gain crystalline luminescent nanoparticles. CdSO4, Mn(NO3)2 and Na 2S2O3 were used as the precursors, and thioglycerol was employed as the capping agent and also the reaction catalyst. Na2S2O3 is thermally sensitive and it releases S2- ions upon heating. The CdS:Mn nanoparticles obtained are about 4 nm in size and show both cubic and hexagonal crystalline phases with a ratio of 35% to 65%.     Abstract
    Cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanowires and nanorods with different aspect ratios were successfully synthesized by the solvothermal method aided with various solvents, namely ethylenediamine, ethanolamine and triethylene tetraamine. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses revealed that, highly pure CdS nanostructures were crystallized with different structures and preferable growth orientations depending on solvent nature. Field emission electron microscope (FE-SEM) images showed that the aspect ratio of CdS nanostructures depends upon the dielectric constant and boiling temperature of solvents.
