In the present paper, the use of a novel carbon paste electrode modified by N,N'(2,3-dihydroxybenzylidene)-1,4-phenylenediamine (DHBPD) and TiO2 nanoparticles prepared by a simple and rapid method for the determination of dopamine (DA) was described. In the first part of the work, cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the redox properties of this modified electrode at various solution pH values and at various scan rates. A linear segment was found with slope value of about 48 mV/pH in the pH range 2.0 -12.0. A carbon paste electrode (CPE), modified with novel hydroquinone/TiO2 nanoparticles, was designed and used for simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA) and folic acid (FA). The magnitude of the peak current for modified TiO2-nanoparticle CPE (MTNCPE) increased sharply in the presence of ascorbic acid and was proportional to its concentration. A dynamic range of 1.0-1400.0 μM, with the detection limit of 6.4x10-7M for AA, was obtained using the DPV technique (pH=7.0). A composition of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), Nafion and cobalt(II)-5-nitrosalophen (CoNSal) is applied for the modification of carbon-paste electrode (CPE). The pretreated MWCNT is well dispersed in the alcoholic solution of Nafion under the ultrasonic agitation, and the resulted suspension is used as modifier (with 10% w/w) in the matrix of the paste electrode. Voltammetric behavior of two mercaptopyrimidine derivatives (2-thiouracil and 2-thiobarbituric acid) has been studied by cyclic voltammetry at a cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc)-modified carbon-paste electrode. The results of voltammetric determinations showed that the CoPc in the matrix of modified electrode acts as catalyst for electrooxidation of these thiols (RSH), lowering the overpotential of the reaction and significantly increasing the sensitivity for detection of thiols in neutral conditions. Electrocatalytic oxidation of penicillamine (PA) at a carbon paste electrode chemically modified with cobalt salophen as a schiff base complex (CoSal) was thoroughly investigated. The electrochemical behavior of methimazole, as an antithyroid agent, is investigated on the surface of a carbon-paste electrode modified with a newly synthesized Schiff base complex of cobalt. A multi-walled carbon nanotube paste electrode (MWCPE) is prepared as an electrochemical sensor with high sensitivity and selectivity in responding to isoniazid. The electrochemical oxidation of isoniazid is investigated in buffered solution by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry. The objective of the work ahead is presentation of a new carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified by TiO2 nanoparticles (TiO2NPs) and 1,2-bis-[o-aminophenyl thio] ethane (APTE) ligand as a selective cation receptor for determination of the Cd (II) ions using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). A modified carbon-paste electrode (CPE) is prepared by incorporating thionine-nafion supported on multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). The electrochemical behavior of dopamine (DA) and ascorbic acid (AA) on the surface of the modified electrode is investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The electrocatalytic oxidation of cephalexin and cefazolin has been studied at a carbon paste electrode modified with cobalt salophen (CoSal) by cyclic voltammetry. The selectivity of the carbon paste modified with CoSal in detecting cephalexin and cefazolin was examined. To suggest the electrocatalytic mechanism for electro-oxidation of cefazolin, the electrochemical behavior of ceftriaxone was investigated which has a thiol group out of the beta lactam ring. A modified carbon paste electrode was prepared by incorporating the TiO2 nanoparticles in the carbon paste matrix. The electrochemical behavior of gallic acid (GA) is investigated on the surface of the electrode using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The surface morphology of the prepared electrode was characterized using the scanning electron microscopy. A carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with thionine immobilized on multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), was prepared for simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and acetaminophen (AC) in the presence of isoniazid (INZ). The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward AA, AC and INZ were investigated by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (CV and DPV). The electrochemical behavior of ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) at the surface of a carbon-paste electrode modified with incorporate thionine-nafion ion-paired was thoroughly investigated. The electrochemical behavior of captopril at the surface of a carbon-paste electrode (CPE) modified with cobalt-5-nitrolsalophen (CoNSal) is described.
