    Abstract
A heterogeneous catalyst for epoxidation of alkenes has been synthesized by introducing polyoxomolybdate into a natural zeolite as a solid and green support. The prepared catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 absorption–desorption, field emission scanning electron micrograph (FE-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic investigations disclosed that nanocluster polyoxomolybdate supported on the surface is an active and recyclable catalyst in liquid phase alkene epoxidation in dichloroethane at 80 °C. © 2017 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group

    , Article Materials Research Bulletin ; Volume 46, Issue 10 , 2011 , Pages 1642-1647 ; 00255408 (ISSN) Bayati, M. R ; Golestani Fard, F ; Moshfegh, A. Z ; Molaei, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Micro arc oxidation technique, as a facile and efficient process, was employed to grow sulfur doped titania porous layers. This research sheds light on the photocatalytic performance of the micro arc oxidized S-TiO2 nano-porous layers fabricated under pulse current. Morphological and topographical studies, performed by SEM and AFM techniques, revealed that increasing the frequency and/or decreasing the duty cycle resulted in formation of finer pores and smoother surfaces. XRD and XPS results showed that the layers consisted of anatase and rutile phases whose fraction was observed to change depending on the synthesis conditions. The highest anatase relative content was obtained at the...

    Abstract
The new Co(II) - carboxamide complex (1) and Co3O4 nanoparticles (2), by way of thermal decomposition of (1) have been efficiently synthesised in the environment-friendly. X-ray diffraction reveals a slightly distorted octahedral coordination of cobalt (four nitrogens and two oxygens) in (1) and regular octahedral or tetrahedral ones (oxygens only) in (2). The investigation of (1) and (2) in the Mizoroki-Heck and epoxidation of alkens reactions showed them both to be powerful, green and inexpensive catalysts. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd

    Abstract
BACKGROUND: The clay treatment widely utilized to reduce unsaturated components in aromatic stream has a detrimental effect on catalyst lifetime. Due to the short lifetime of commercial clay, a huge number of studies have been carried out to address this problem over the last decade. A novel process arrangement is introduced by scheduling the reuse of deactivated clay that is discarded after deactivation. RESULTS: Results showed that the suitable range of temperature for olefin removal is...

    Abstract
A new method for the fabrication of an electromagnetic nanocomposite based on Fe3O4 and polyaniline (PANI) is offered. The authors focused on improvement of the physical and electromagnetic properties of the nanocomposite using a new synthetic method. Supermagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were synthesized through coprecipitation method. As a chemical modification, the third generation of poly (amidoamine) dendrimer was grafted on the surface of the nanoparticles. PANI was grafted from -NH2 functional groups of dendrimer via in situ polymerization of aniline. Finally, Au nanoparticles were loaded on the nanocomposite and its catalytic activity for reduction reactions was studied

    Abstract
Two nanocatalysts of palladium over multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were synthesized and their catalytic properties evaluated in selective hydrogenation of acetylene. Different procedures were applied to synthesize catalysts which resulted in two distinct average particle sizes of palladium (Pd) over the MWCNT. The resulting catalysts displayed dissimilar NH3-TPD behaviors as well as different selectivity performances at lower temperatures. While enhancement of the hydrogen transfer mechanism occurred upon the temperature increase, similar behaviors for the aforementioned materials were obtained. Furthermore, it was revealed that the catalytic performance at higher temperatures did not...

    Abstract
Chemical processing of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides has attracted immense attention due to their unique optical, electrical, and catalytic properties. In this paper, we show that under special conditions during seedless chemical vapor deposition (CVD), it is possible to grow large-area 2D WS2 layers with disc-shaped morphology, which has been scarcely reported. Detailed characterizations of the CVD-grown layers by Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy have revealed that a gradient in the precursor concentration in the gas phase and strain energy in the deposited hexagonal clusters favor...

    Abstract
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), a two-dimensional transition metal has a 2D layered structure and has recently attracted attention due to its novel catalytic properties. In this study, MoS2 has been successfully intercalated using chemical and physical intercalation techniques, while enhancing its surface properties. The other goal of this study is to form S[dbnd]O bonds mainly because of expected enhanced...
