    Abstract
    In this paper the framework for a constitutive model which is developed for a cemented gravely sand is presented. The model is based on separation technic namely the separation of the behavior to the uncemented soil and the cemented bonds. They are combined in a manner to satisfy the deformation consistency and energy equilibrium equations. The uncemented soil behavior is modeled using a modified model originally proposed by Pastor et al. (1985) for sandy soils. Also, based on the results of the experiments, a new model for the bonds is developed. Combination of these two parts results in the modeling of the behavior of cemented gravely soils in drained and undrained states

    Abstract
    The shear behavior of a cemented gravely sand that can be considered as the representative of Tehran alluvium has been studied using triaxial equipment. Artificially cemented samples were prepared using gypsum plaster as the cementing agent. The plaster was mixed with the base soil at the weight percentages between 1.5 and 6. The critical state concepts were used to illustrate the mechanical behavior of tested soil. © 2005 ejge  

    The effect of calcite cementation on the mechanical behavior of gravely sands

    Abstract
    The behavior of a cemented gravely sand is studied using triaxial tests. Undrained tests were performed on saturated specimens, and stress-strain characteristics of the soil, along with volumetric and pore pressure changes, were recognized. Artificially cemented samples are prepared using calcite crystallization as the cementing agent in different percentages. The tests were done in usual range of confining pressures, from 50 to 1200 kPa. The results shows that dilation occurs even at highest confining pressure and least cement content. Also the friction angle of soils increases slightly with cement content, but cohesion intercept increasing is more noticeable

    Abstract
    The behavior of a cemented gravely sand is studied using triaxial tests. Drained and undrained tests were performed on dry and saturated specimens, and stress-strain characteristics of the soil, along with volumetric and pore pressure changes, were identified. The gypsum plaster was used as the cement agent and was mixed with the soil in different percentages. The tests were done in the usual range of confining pressures, from 25 to 500 kPa. Test results show that dilation occurs even at the highest confining stress and the least cement content.     Abstract
    The majority of the city of Tehran, Iran has been developed on cemented coarse-grained alluvium. In order to understand the mechanical behavior of this soil, a series of triaxial compression tests (CD, CU) were performed on uncemented and artificially cemented samples. Hydrated lime was used as the cementation agent for sample preparation to model the Tehran cemented deposit. The tests were performed on artificially cemented samples after an appropriate curing time. The effect of confining pressure, cement content and fine content is investigated in this research.     Understanding of the effect of cementation on dynamic behaviour of cemented soil in an earthquake prone area could be crucial for earthquake resistance design. The major section of the city of Tehran has been developed on cemented coarse-grained alluvium. In order to understand the dynamic behaviour of this soil, a series of undrained cyclic triaxial tests were performed on uncemented and artificially calcite-cemented samples.
