Design, Modeling and Vibration Analysis of Combined Diesel-diesel Gearbox

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Akhavan Niaki, Farbod (Author) ; Durali, Mohammad Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This research is focused on determination of optimum working conditions of a vessel power consisting of diesel engines, a twin input gearbox and a controllable pitch propeller. Combined dual input gearbox as an intermediate member of the power train is run by two diesel engines. This gearbox consists of gears, multi disk input clutches, and output. One diesel engine acts as master and works as primary driver, and the second diesel is used as auxiliary during excess power needs. Gearbox model includes nonlinear elements like multi disk clutch and gear backlash. Diesel engines are modeled as power sources controlled by PID control of power lever for maintaining the desired speed. Tejson-...

Thermal Analysis of Dry Friction Clutch and its Effect in Torque Transmission

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hasanpour, Hadi (Author) ; Kazemzadeh Hannani, Siamak (Supervisor)
    Abstract
For optimum designing of dry friction clutch, we should taking into account a lot of parameters, in order to the clutch have good efficiency in torque transmission and power train. These parameters include: the type of friction plate and the mechanical properties, Clutch geometry, diaphragm spring and its ability to make pressure. In this project, the goal is the analysis of effect of different parameters in clutch's temperature distribution and effect of these issues in torque transmission. In next step, the clutch's temperature distribution analyzed by changing the friction plate (ceramic), pressure applied and relative round in order to gain optimum properties of clutch. These works done...

    Abstract
During the past decade, Electro-Hydraulic system has performed a significant role in industrial engineering as an actuator for high performance and precision positioning applications. In this case, many control methods have been developed for an electro-hydraulic actuated clutch. In this paper a Linear Quadratic Regulators (LQR) is proposed to trajectory control of a wet clutch actuated by a hydraulic servo valve mechanism. Simulation study was performed using linearized mathematical model of the system implemented in MATLAB software. Based on the simulation results performance of the proposed controller was evaluated and discussed
