    Novel probabilistic bounds on power level profile of spectrally-encoded spread-time CDMA signals [electronic resource]

    Abstract
    In this letter we introduce an effective tool to demonstrate signal power behavior of a typical spectrally encoded spread-time (SE/ST) CDMA system using probabilistic approach. By defining power level profile (PLP), as the probability of stretching instantaneous power from a pre-specified threshold, we can find novel upper bounds on the signal power profile. We discuss various properties owing to PLP and elaborate on the main parameters affecting the PLP value. We present three theorems, propose some simple upper bounds on the PLP, and give an insight on the main contributions of the results.     Abstract
    In this paper, we consider the problem of transmit code design to optimize the detection probability of an extended target embedded in Gaussian signal-dependent interference. We model the target with a priori known target impulse response (TIR) structure along with an unknown reflection factor. As is known, the performance of the generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) detector, for the case at hand, monotonically increases with the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR).     Abstract
    We prove that the inner products of spherical s-distance t-designs with t≥2s−2 (Delsarte codes) and s≥3 are rational with the only exception being the icosahedron. In other formulations, we prove that all sharp configurations have rational inner products and all spherical codes which attain the Levenshtein bound, have rational inner products, except for the icosahedron. © 2022 Elsevier Inc

    Abstract
    A novel information theoretic code design approach for cognitive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radars is proposed in the current paper. In the suggested solution, we consider an agile multi-antenna radar with spectral cognition and design optimized transmission codes considering practical limitations such as peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) and spectral coexistence in a spectrally crowded environment. As exact performance expressions for the detector is not analytically tractable in this case, an information theoretic approach is taken into account to design the transmission codes.     Abstract
    This study concentrates on the improvement in the performance of PEM fuel cells through optimization of the channel dimensions and patterns in the velocity and pressure fields in bipolar plates. For design and optimization purposes, a 2D numerical simulation of the flow distribution based on the Nervier-Stokes equations using individual computer code has been done. The outcome of the numerical simulations showed excellent agreement with the experimental results in previous works. Finally numerical simulation has been conducted to investigate the advantages of conventional patterns with inspiration from leaf flow pattern.     Abstract
    Few works has been focused on the problem of joint distributed data compression and network coding. In this paper we give some examples showing the advantage of broadcast nature of wireless environment as a basis for joint codes design. Also we show that joint coding is possible in the case of multiple unicasts. The idea of this paper can be exploited in an opportunistic manner. Actually, the foundation of our idea is nothing but combining opportunistic network coding (COPE) and distributed source coding using syndromes (DISCUS) for wireless applications. © 2009 IEEE

    The aim of this paper is introducing coding scheme that can potentially achieve the sum rate-distortion bound of Gaussian IMTSC/CEO problem with arbitrary number of encoders. No previous work has been reported on code design for the IMTSC/CEO problem with the number of encoders greater than two. In this paper the framework of Slepian-Wolf coded quantization is extended to the case with the number of encoders greater than two.     Abstract
    In this letter we consider optimum code structure for positive optical code division multiple-access (optical CDMA) systems. Positive systems are a class of systems that operate with positive real numbers only. We consider the effect of multipleaccess interference in our model and show that code design for both On-Off Keying (OOK) and Binary PPM optical CDMA systems results in the same solutions.
