Palladium nanoparticle-decorated magnetic pomegranate peel-derived porous carbon nanocomposite as an excellent catalyst for suzuki–miyaura and sonogashira cross-coupling reactions
, Article Applied Organometallic Chemistry ; Volume 32, Issue 10 , 2018 ; 02682605 (ISSN) ; Habibi, Z ; Sharif University of Technology
Abstract
Porous carbon (PC) material was prepared from the carbonization of pomegranate peel waste. Subsequently, magnetically separable Fe3O4@PC was synthesized from Fe3O4 nanoparticles decorated on PC by the co-precipitation method of iron ions. Finally, Fe3O4@PC was successfully decorated with palladium nanoparticles in a simple route by reducing H2PdCl4 in the presence of sodium dodecylsulfate, which was used as both surfactant and reducing agent. Additionally, the effect of temperature on the carbonization process was studied. The Pd/Fe3O4@PC nanocomposite was used as an efficient and heterogeneous catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura and Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions in an environmentally...

Abstract
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs), surmised as "the organic reaction medium of the century", have reverberated a new symphony throughout the present green millennium. A brief historical account of the DES systems and their physicochemical properties as task-specific and designer solvents for cross-coupling reactions are appraised including the hole theory that explains the underlying mechanistic pathway for this emerging neoteric medium. The insights into cross-coupling reactions and their applications are included, highlighting the significant achievements pertaining to the dual role of DESs as a solvent and catalyst. In addition, popular "name-reactions"for the carbon-carbon and...

Abstract
(Chemical Equation Presented) An efficient and simple route is presented to the synthesis of some iminothiazolidinone derivatives. α-Chloro amide derivatives undergo coupling reaction with isothiocyanate in the presence of a mild base, followed by nucleophilic substitution of chlorine by the sulfur atom of isothiocyanate

Abstract
Cognitive functions such as working memory require integrated activity among different brain regions. Notably, entorhinal cortex (EC) activity is associated with the successful working memory task. Olfactory bulb (OB) oscillations are known as rhythms that modulate rhythmic activity in widespread brain regions during cognitive tasks. Since the OB is structurally connected to the EC, we hypothesized that OB could modulate EC activity during working memory performance. Herein, we explored OB–EC functional connectivity during spatial working memory performance by simultaneous recording local field potentials when rats performed a Y-maze task. Our results showed that the coherence of delta,...

Abstract
A copper catalyst has been explored as an efficient and recyclable catalyst to effect Sonogashira and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. After modification of 2-(((piperazin-1-ylmethyl)imino)methyl)phenol (PP) on the surface of amorphous silica-coated iron oxide (Fe3O4@SiO2@Cl) magnetic core-shell nanocomposite, copper(II) chloride was employed to synthesize the Fe3O4@SiO2@PP-Cu catalyst, affording a copper loading of 1.52 mmol g-1. High yield, low reaction times, non-toxicity and recyclability of the catalyst are the main merits of this protocol. The catalyst was characterized using Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron, energy-dispersive X-ray and inductively coupled plasma optical...

Abstract
A new zwitterionic Palladium (II) complex has been synthesized by the one-pot mixing of Pd(OAc)2, 2-aminophenol and (3-formyl-4-hydroxy-5-methylbenzyl) triphenylphosphonium chloride, in refluxing ethanol. The metal complex formed was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 31P NMR and X-ray crystallographic technique and its efficiency tested as a homogeneous pre-catalyst in Heck-Mizoroki cross coupling reaction using γ-Valerolactone (GVL) as a biomass-derived green medium. All the products were obtained in good to excellent yields. © 2019
A simple catalyst for aqueous phase Suzuki reactions based on palladium nanoparticles immobilized on an ionic polymer

Abstract
Palladium nanoparticles immobilized on a cross-linked imidazolium-containing polymer were evaluated as a catalyst for Suzuki carbon-carbon cross-coupling reactions using water as the solvent. The nanocatalysts show good catalytic activities for aryl iodides and aryl bromides and moderate activity with aryl chloride substrates. Coupling of sterically hindered substrates could also be achieved in reasonable yields. The heterogeneous catalyst is stable, can be stored without precautions to exclude air or moisture, and can be easily recycled and reused

The various fundamental reaction parameters that influence the efficiency of the reaction and yield of the desired reaction products were optimized. This catalytic system showed good activities and evolve a strategy for achieving five times catalyst and...

Abstract
For the first time the new 32-membered macrocyclic dinuclear palladium complex of two aza-crown macrocycles, bearing two pyridine arms, Pd2L2Cl4 was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Pd2L2Cl4 was investigated as a moisture/air-stable catalyst for Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction in the absence of copper and phosphine ligand in DMSO. Thermal stability, possible occurrence of tandem reactions, promoted catalytic performance as well as synergistic effects are of advantageous features of Pd2L2Cl4. By employing Taguchi method, optimum conditions (110 °C, 6 h, KOAc, 2 mol% cat.) were determined. Moreover, the...
