A lagged implicit segregated data reconstruction procedure to treat open boundaries

    Abstract
The problem of treating open boundaries is still a challenging one. Applying fully developed condition is constrained to long enough domains. Without having enough physical evidence about what happens on boundaries, the domain extent could not be shortened and computational costs could not be reduced. From the advent of free (open) boundary conditions, they were confined to mixed finite element procedures. Recent works have extended their application to coupled finite volume solvers based on the shape function data reconstruction. A wider class of flow solvers available, however, rely on the segregated procedure where the velocity components and pressure are solved in succession. Moreover,...

    Abstract
In this paper, we will investigate the efficacy of IMAT (Iterative Method of Adaptive Thresholding) in recovering the sparse signal (parameters) for linear models with random missing data. Sparse recovery rises in compressed sensing and machine learning problems and has various applications necessitating viable reconstruction methods specifically when we work with big data. This paper will mainly focus on comparing the power of Iterative Method of Adaptive Thresholding (IMAT) in reconstruction of the desired sparse signal with that of LASSO. Additionally, we will assume the model has random missing information. Missing data has been recently of interest in big data and machine learning...

Identification and Detection of Cyber-Attack on Smart Grid Using Artificial Intelligence

    Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the False Data Injection (FDI) attack and reconstruct the incorrect data created by FDI in the power system using machine learning algorithms. Unlike conventional power grids, the smart grids due to the increase of smart devices and communication networks to transfer power grid information from one point to another and the need to control and monitor the power grid is an electrical network that is integrated with a communication network (cyber-physical system). A communication network that transmits data between the control center and smart meters increases the threat of cyber-attacks in the power grid. In this study, the aim is to investigate the FDI...

An optimum pre-filter for ICA based multi-input multi-output OFDM system

    , Article International Journal of Innovative Computing, Information and Control ; Volume 7, Issue 6 , June , 2011 , Pages 3499-3508 ; 13494198 (ISSN) Khosravy, M ; Asharif, M. R ; Khosravi, M ; Yamashita, K ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
This paper presents an optimum pre-filter for ICA based multi-input multi-output OFDM system. In our former work, we presented a pre-filter solution for multiuser reconstruction in ICA based MIMO-OFDM systems [1,2]. Here, based on the structure of the system and former pre-filter solution, an optimization problem has been designed to give us the optimum pre-filter. The designed problem is based on minimization of the estimation error of ambiguities inherent to ICA in reconstruction of the data after separation. The optimization problem is mathematically solved and a set of optimized coefficients are obtained. Among the obtained set as optimum coefficients, optimum coefficients are acquired...
