    Abstract
    This paper focuses on developing a new method that represents user-accessible correlation for the estimation of water-based nanofluids viscosity. For this, an evolutionary algorithm, namely Gene Expression Programming (GEP), was adapted based on a wide selection of literature published databanks including 819 water-based nanofluids viscosity points. The developed model utilized the base fluid viscosity as well as volume fraction and size of the nanoparticles as the inputs of the model. Several statistical parameters integrated with graphical plots were employed in order to assess the accuracy of the proposed GEP-based model.     Abstract
    Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) are very often used as handles for nanotechnological micromanipulation. In this regard, optical trapping of GNPs is of great importance, in which locating the trapped GNP within the focal spot with nanometer precision is crucial. Very recently, we have introduced a new position detection system for optical tweezers based on moiré deflectometry (MD). Here we show, both theoretically and experimentally, that an MD detection system could provide significantly larger detection sensitivity for a trapped GNP compared to that provided by conventional back focal plane (BFP) detection systems.     Abstract
    The catalytic activity of Pt/Ni/TiO 2 nanotubes electrode toward glucose has been studied. Fabrication of Pt/Ni nanostructures was done in a single-bath solution through electrochemical pulse method by changing the deposition potential between -0.3 and -4 V vs. SCE, respectively. The resulting modified electrode represented high conductivity due to the effective presence of metallic components and uniform surface area caused by dispersion of Pt and Ni nanostructures.     Abstract
    In this study a novel Pt/Ni nanostructure consisting of nano-bushes and nanocubes was fabricated onto TiO 2 nanotubes. The scanning electron microscopy images showed that a large amount of well-dispersed nano-architectures had uniformly covered all over the surface which made an electrode with high surface area. It was obviously seen that the nanocube structures mainly consists of Ni had been grown on top of each other while the Pt colonies represented bush-like structures. As a non-enzymatic glucose biosensor, the Pt/Ni TiO 2 nanotubes modified electrode exhibited an excellent performance.     Abstract
    The electrochemical behavior of lamotrigine (LMT) at the pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE) is investigated in detail by the means of cyclic voltammetry. During the electrochemical reduction of LMT, an irreversible cathodic peak appeared. Cyclic voltammetric studies indicated that the reduction process has an irreversible and adsorption-like behavior. The observed reduction peak is attributed to a two-electron process referring to the reduction of azo group. The electrode showed an excellent electrochemical activity toward the electro-reduction of LMT, leading to a significant improvement in sensitivity as compared to the glassy carbon electrode.
