    Abstract
    High-strength low alloy (HSLA) E275 developed specifically for automotive application. Also St12 Steel is used in autobodies. On the other hand the resistance spot weld of dissimilar materials is generally more challenging than that of similar materials due to differences in the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the base metals.     Abstract
    Welded sheets with different thicknesses are one of the interesting types of tailor-welded blanks (TWBs) that are widely used in metal-forming industries. In the present work, the formability behavior of different 1100-aluminum TWBs was studied. In this regard, the TWBs were made with different thickness ratios by using friction stir welding (FSW) at different welding rotational speeds (ω). The thickness ratios of 1.0, 1.3, and 1.7 were investigated where the thinner sheets had 1.5 mm thick for all conditions; i.e., the volume of welded material increased when the thickness ratio increased.     Abstract
    In this study, a near equiatomic NiTi shape memory alloy was hot rolled at 800°C using thethickness reductions of 30 and 50%. Optical and transmission electron microscopy, together withX-ray diffraction were used to demonstrate the microstructural changes associated with the hotrolling at different thickness reductions. Repeated transformation cycling was employed toinvestigate the evolution of R phase during cycling.     A three-dimensional elasticity solution for the analysis of functionally graded rotating cylinders with variable thickness profile is proposed. The axisymmetric structure has been divided in several divisions in the radial direction. Constant mechanical properties and thickness profile are assumed within each division. The solution is considered for four different thickness profiles, namely constant, linear, concave, and convex.     Abstract
    This paper presents a compact and cost effective method for on-chip separation of silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles (SMNPs) with different hydrodynamic size. Three types of SMNPs (Fe3O4@SiO2) with the same magnetic core but with different thickness of silica shells were successfully separated using the developed microfluidic platform. The innovative aspect of the presented separation method is that the induced velocity on the three different types of SMNPs while imposed to the same magnetic field gradient in a static fluid is inversely proportional to their overall, non-magnetic volume.
