Dedicated Processor Design for Indoor Positioning

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Lotfian, Reza (Author) ; Ahmadi, Fotowat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Due to extension of wireless networks, indoor positioning service becomes more important in new generations of WLAN networks. Complicated nature of indoor propagation channel decreases the quality of localization service in urban area. To overcome this problem, we surveyed characteristics of indoor radio channels and proposed methods to specify channel parameters to reduce its effect on positioning error. For this purpose, we introduce some super resolution methods and compare their precision and ability to implement on hardware. Among all of them, Matrix Pencil is selected and its mathematical functions are analyzed and stated in numerical algorithms and basic units. In implementain phase,...

    Abstract
The paper presents the experimental and analytical model analysis of a steel-girder arch bridge. The field test is carried out by ambient vibration testing under traffic excitations. Both the peak picking method in the frequency domain and the stochastic subspace identification method in the time domain are used for the output-only model identification. A good agreement in identified frequencies has been found between the two methods. It is further demonstrated that the stochastic subspace method provides better mode shapes. The three-dimensional finite element models are constructed and an analytical model analysis is then performed to generate natural frequencies and mode shapes in the...
