Abstract
In this research, the separation of tellurium from selenium was studied from chloride solution by TBP extractant. In the batch experiments, the experimental findings indicated that the feed acidity, TBP concentration, and contact time were optimized to achieve the high separation factor. In continuous mode of pulsed disc and doughnut column, the impacts of operating parameters have been discussed on the distribution coefficients of selenium and tellurium, and mass transfer enhancement. A new model for predicting Koca was proposed in terms of holdup values, Sherwood, Reynolds, and Schmidt numbers, which has an acceptable agreement with the mass transfer data. © 2020 Taylor & Francis Group,...
Liquid-Liquid equilibrium data, density, viscosity, and interfacial tension of ternary system (Toluene-Acetic Acid-Water) at 298.15 K: Experiment and correlation
, Article Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data ; Volume 62, Issue 12 , 2017 , Pages 4133-4143 ; 00219568 (ISSN) ; Molaei Dehkordi, A ; Seifkordi, A. A ; Sharif University of Technology
Abstract
Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data, density, viscosity, and interfacial tension for the ternary system of toluene-acetic acid-water were measured at 298.15 K and 101.7 kPa. The Othmer-Tobias and the Hand correlations were used to check the reliability of the experimental tie-lines. Moreover, the distribution coefficient and the separation factor were explored. It was found from the experimental results that a maximum separation factor value happens at an acetic acid mass fraction of 0.02 in the organic phase. Density, viscosity, and interfacial tension were correlated using the appropriate correlations such that the predicted results have excellent agreement with the experimental data. The...
Adsorption behavior of toxic metal Ions on nano-structured CuO granules

Abstract
In this study, copper oxide nano particles were synthesized by batchwise supercritical hydrothermal method. After preparation of CuO nano particles, they were immobilized into the porous matrix of sodium alginate. The drying process formed a very porous structure that is useful for enhancing of adsorption activity. Produced CuO particles were characterized by X-ray diffractometery (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and BET for measuring the surface area. The prepared materials were then used as adsorbent in the removal of toxic metal ions in aqueous solution. To optimize the adsorption system, the effect of various parameters such as adsorbent...

Abstract
Solvent extraction of molybdenum (VI) and tungsten (VI) by synergism of the mixture of D2EHPA and TBP were conducted in the RDC extractor with perforated structure. The initial aqueous pH, extractant concentration, ammonium hydroxide concentration as a stripping agent, and synergistic enhancement factor were optimized in the initial experiments before collecting column data. In the RDC column, the influence of agitation rate and inlet phase velocities were examined on the hydrodynamic velocities, mass transfer data, and distribution coefficients. The finding data indicated that the impact of agitation speed on the distribution coefficients of molybdenum and tungsten is considerable in...
