    Preparations and characterizations of Ca doped Ni–Mg–Mn nanocrystalline ferrites for switching field high-frequency applications

    Abstract
    Ca-doped Ni–Mg–Mn spinel ferrites with compositions of Ni0·5Mg0·3Mn0.2CaxFe2-xO4 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) were prepared via sol-gel auto-ignition technique. TGA/DTA, FTIR, XRD, FESEM, and VSM were employed to evaluate the thermal, spectral, structural, morphological, and magnetic features of Ca-doped Ni–Mg–Mn spinel ferrites. TGA/DTA curves show the weight loss in the sample. This weight loss was attributed to the oxidation and decomposition of the sample contents at a temperature of 500 °C.     Two series of heat-resistant 25Cr-35Ni-Nb stainless steels with tungsten addition and Nb/C ratio of ≈2.6 and 3.9 were directionally solidified under two cooling rates of 23–6 °C s−1, respectively. EDS analysis, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) tests were carried out to show that tungsten as a carbide phase nucleant promoted weak coupled eutectic growth of γ/ M7C3 and decreased the lamellar eutectic colonies.     In precipitation hardenable materials, it is desirable to determine the precipitate dissolution temperature for homogenizing the microstructure by controlling the size and distribution of the precipitates. In this research, differential thermal analysis, dilatometry technique, heat treatments followed by microstructure evaluation were used to determine the -γ' dissolution temperature of Nimonic 115.     The effects of SiO 2 and K 2O were investigated on the glass forming ability (GFA) and structural characteristics of CaOTiO 2P 2O 5 system. Differential thermal analyzer (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FT-IR and 31P magic angle spinning NMR methods were applied for characterizations of the system. Unwanted crystallization in the initial three components base glass composition was observed by adding SiO 2 and crystalline phases such as TiP 2O 7, rutile (TiO 2) and cristobalite (SiO 2) were formed in it.
