    Batch adsorption experiments were carried out for the removal of malachite green (MG) cationic dye from aqueous solution using novel hydrogel nanocomposite that was prepared by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA) onto kappa-carrageenan (κC) biopolymer in the presence of a crosslinking agent, a free radical initiator and aminosilica-functionalized TiO2 nanoparticles (κC-g-PAA/TiO2-NH2).     The functionalized copper oxide–zinc oxide nanocomposite (FCZN) was synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, and BET. Dye removal from aqueous solution was done in a batch system using FCZN as an adsorbent. The effects of adsorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, pH, temperature, and additive salts on dye removal were investigated.     Immobilization of Laccase onto Graphene Oxide-based Nano-Composites for Decolorization of Colored Wastewaters

    Using free laccase, enzymatic decolorization of two azo dyes were optimized. The optimum conditions with the aim of maximizing the decolorization of AB92 dye (92.30%) were: dye concentration = 11.85 mg L-1, pH = 5.1, and enzyme concentration = 98.37 mg L-1. While, these conditions to achieve the maximum decolorization yield of DR23 (95.60%) were: dye concentration = 17.68 mg L-1, pH 3.7 and enzyme concentration =97.89 mg L-1.In the second part, the laccase enzyme was covalently immobilized onto GO nanosheets.     In this study, novel chitosan/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/SiO2 nanocomposite ENMs were prepared to improve the mechanical strength and permeation properties of ENMs. The effect of various concentrations of SiO2 in the spinning solution (0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 wt %) on the morphology, fiber diameter, porosity, thermomechanical properties, and permeability of the synthesized membranes was investigated.     In this study, a reliable and predictive model namely, least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) was developed to predict dye removal efficiency. Four LS-SVM models have been developed and tested using more than 630 series of experimental data which were obtained from our previous paper.
