    Abstract
    An analysis of carbon dioxide (CO2) removal process from synthesis gas has been carried out in this work. CO2 removals by physical and chemical solvents are the most often used. The most important factors that affect cost and performance of a CO2 recovery unit are the number of flash drum separation units, and the pressure drop pattern among them. Different variations of this process were simulated using Hysys software, and the capital and operational expenditures for these plants were estimated.     Doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) are widely used in wind power systems; hence their reliability model is an important consideration for production assessment and economic analysis of wind energy conversion systems. However, to date mutual influences of reliability analysis, production estimations and economic assessments of wind farms have not been fully investigated. This study proposes a reliability model for DFIG wind turbines considering their subcomponent failure rates and downtimes.     A process of ethanol production from wheat straw in Iran was simulated using SuperPro Designer. Wheat is the main cereal crop in Iran. Khuzestan Province was selected as a potential location for the construction of plant. A method was developed to estimate the plant capacity. The base plant size in Khuzestan was estimated to be 316 t day−1. The effect of plant size, logistics of residue collection, wheat yield, and agreements with local farmers on the profitability was calculated, and the minimum selling price was determined for different scenarios.     Abstract
    A technical-economic assessment was carried out in this study to determine the possibilities for wind and solar power generation in Afghanistan’s Helmand province. The results showed that most of the province has a solar irradiance of over 400 W/m2, and also showed that wind and solar power generated in the province can be up to twice as cheap as the official price of renewable power in Afghanistan. The most suitable site for solar and hydrogen production was found to be Laškar Gāh, where solar and hydrogen can be produced at a cost of 0.066 $/kWh and 2.1496 $/kg-H2, respectively.     Abstract
    This paper summarizes the possibility of carbon dioxide gas Injection and compares the results with natural depletion in one of Iranian under saturated oil reservoir. At first with using PVTi software and Eclipse simulator, slim tube test has been simulated and Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP) of carbon dioxide gas with reservoir fluid determined then simulation of CO2 injection had done and at the end assessment of economic conditions for CO2 injection had been considered.     Abstract
    The effect of organosolv pretreatment on the structure of rice straw was analyzed under different treatment severities and solvent concentrations. At higher severities, on account of a greater fragmentation of less crystalline parts, including amorphous cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, the severer the pretreatment was, the higher the crystallinity index became; however, changes in the index was less tangible with a severity factor lower than 3.3. At the low to mild pretreatment temperatures (120 °C and 150 °C), higher ethanol concentrations led to the lower crystallinity index.
