    Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to study brain drain as a social problem and elaborate a five-dimensional social justice model as the main cause of brain drain. The paper explores the effects of distributional justice, emotional justice, procedural justice, transactional justice, and informational justice on brain drain intention. Design/methodology/approach: The method of research is survey method. This research is functional in terms of target and is descriptive. Moreover, the research is a field study from the information gathering perspective; and from the aspect of relationship between variables, it has casual type. Findings: The results of this study demonstrate that justice is a...

    Abstract
A traveling wave distributed mixer is studied. It is shown that increasing the drain-source capacitances in a distributed FET mixer simultaneously improves its conversion gain and noise figure. Besides, it is shown that proper loading of input and output elements can improve the device performance. The simulation results are well matched with the measurements and also with the results of the existing certified simulators. © 2002 IEEE

Analysis of the Level of Learning in the Research Office of Sharif University of Technology based on Single Loop and Double Loop Learning Models

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hakem Zadeh, Farimah (Author) ; Mashayekhi, Ali Naghi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today the economical and technological success of a nation is based upon the amount of knowledge that is created within that nation. Thus universities, as the main engines for creating knowledge, are held responsible for this matter. Sharif University is one of the top universities in Iran; which is fortunate to have some of the very high quality faculties across nation and has been succesfull so far to attract the highest ranked students for both its undergraduate and graduate programs. Unfortunately, despite its potentials, Sharif University has not reached its desirable place in the world and nation’s ranking of universities according to their research index. This research has thus...

A proposed Multibeam Ka-Band Satellite for providing high-speed internet service for Iranian universities and educational institutions

    , Article 2007 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Malaysia International Conference on Communications, ICT-MICC 2007, Penang, 14 May 2007 through 17 May 2007 ; February , 2007 , Pages 283-288 ; 1424410940 (ISBN); 9781424410941 (ISBN) Ostovarzadeh, M ; Farzaneh, F ; Sharif University of Technology
    2007
    Abstract
A Multibeam Ka-band Satellite to offer High Speed Internet service to state and private universities and high schools based on 2007-2008 academic year statistical data is proposed. For this goal an optimum coverage on Iran has been created using MATLAB software. These data were transferred to 1:250000 digital map of Iran using ILWIS software. After reading the coordinates of cities located in each contour, which were more than 640 locations, we proceeded to calculate traffic specifications of each beam. After frequency planning for beams, the power and dimension of earth stations were designed. Finally the technical specifications of the proposed satellite to serve nationwide users are...

Business intelligence in e-learning: Case study on the Iran University of Science and Technology DataSet

    , Article 2nd International Conference on Software Engineering and Data Mining, SEDM 2010, 23 June 2010 through 25 June 2010 ; June , 2010 , Pages 473-477 ; 9788988678213 (ISBN) Falakmasir, M. H ; Moaven, S ; Abolhassani, H ; Habibi, J ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Nowadays, e-learning platforms are widely used by universities and other research-based and educational institutions. Despite lots of advantages these educational environments provide for organizations, yet there are many unresolved problems which cause instructors and training managers with some difficulties to get proper information about the students' learning behavior. On one hand, lack of tools to measure, assess, and evaluate the performance of learners in educational activities has led the educators to fail to guarantee the success of learning process. On the other hand, strict structure of learning materials prevents students to acquire knowledge based on their learning style....
