A novel ultrasensitive modified electrode was fabricated with a graphene nanosheets and carbon nanospheres (GNS-CNS)-based nanocomposite film as a powerful platform. Pt nanoparticles (PtNPs) were simply electrodeposited onto the GNS-CNS-coated glassy carbon electrode creating a PtNPs/GNS-CNS hybrid nanocomposite modified electrode. Scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) techniques were used for the characterization of the prepared modified electrode. The results of investigation of electrochemical response characteristics of cefepime (CP) revealed a considerable improvement in the oxidation peak current of CP on PtNPs/GNS-CNS/GCE...

As a selective estrogen receptor modulator, raloxifene (RXF) prevent of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women by estrogenic actions on bone and decreases the risk of invasive breast cancer by anti-estrogenic actions on the breast and uterus tissue. However, RXF may increase the risk of blood clots, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. For the first time glassy carbon electrode modified with a thin film of melamine/carbon nanoparticles (CNPs/Mela) was constructed and used for the sensitive voltammetric determination of RXF. In comparison with unmodified electrode, the presence of the CNPs/Mela film resulted in a remarkable increase in the peak currents and sharpness of the...

Electrochemical activity of TiO2 nanotube arrays (NTAs) is restricted by a wide band gap of TiO2. To overcome this restriction, we considered systematic research on two effective methods of doping of TiO2 NTAs such as the N-doping and electrochemical reductive doping and predicting the proper application of them. Band gap narrowing was occurred from 3.16 eV for undoped TiO2 NTAs to 2.9 and 2.7 eV at N-doped and self-doped TiO2 ones respectively. The electrochemical responses of the TiO2 NTAs before and after doping were examined by cyclic Voltammetry (CV) curve. To understand the electrochemical behavior of the undoped and doped TiO2 NTAs, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was...

Recently, three-dimensional carbon nanostructures have attracted significant attention for biosensing applications. We have prepared highly porous three-dimensional graphene (3DG) structures (90% porosity) by template-assisted chemical vapor deposition technique and enhanced their electrocatalytic activity through in situ electrochemical deposition of rose-like yttrium hexacyanoferrate particles on their struts. The 3DG structure has an average channel size of ∼500 μm, and the microflowers have lateral sizes in the range of 2-10 μm. The performance of the 3DG-based electrode in efficient detection of ascorbic acid was investigated after transferring on a gold screen printed electrode (SPE)....

Abstract: Further to traditional corrosion monitoring techniques for rated deteriorations, nowadays modern electrochemical monitoring methods are promising for the control of non-rated damage mechanisms. Considering carbon steel as the most commonly used alloy in the oil and gas industry, there are special grades under NACE MR0175 standard which are immune to sour corrosion. However, according to the industry reports, their immunity can be terminated by upset conditions or on site repairs. This issue will impose either a high operational risk or exorbitant maintenance and inspection costs. Hence, in this paper, a new monitoring technology framework is discussed to lessen a catastrophic...

Cubic phase Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) is a promising solid electrolyte for next-generation Li-ion batteries. In this work, the combustion sol–gel technique is used to prepare an Al-doped LLZO solid electrolyte. The crystal structure is investigated, and the cubic phase is confirmed. Densification properties were investigated using SEM and optical dilatometry. The densification of the Al-doped sample takes place in two stages through two different shrinkage rates. Using 0.25 mol Al-dopant 94% relative density is achieved at 1100 °C. The effect of Al-doping on electrochemical properties is investigated in detail using AC impedance spectroscopy. The result indicates that the optimum concentration of...

In CV studies, the electrochemical response, peak current varied in the order of MeOH > EtOH > 1-PrOH > 2-PrOH. Under the CA regime, a higher catalytic rate constant obtained for methanol oxidation was in agreement with CV measurements. Lower charge transfer resistance was obtained for low carbon alcohols oxidation and significantly higher...

The validation of the model using experimental data from a microfluidic MFC shows an appropriate match with the hierarchal biodegradation processes of a complex substrate as well as...

Highly sensitive voltammetric determination of lamotrigine at highly oriented pyrolytic graphite electrode

    , Article Bioelectrochemistry ; Volume 84 , 2012 , Pages 38-43 ; 15675394 (ISSN) Saberi, R. S ; Shahrokhian, S ; Sharif University of Technology
The electrochemical behavior of lamotrigine (LMT) at the pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE) is investigated in detail by the means of cyclic voltammetry. During the electrochemical reduction of LMT, an irreversible cathodic peak appeared. Cyclic voltammetric studies indicated that the reduction process has an irreversible and adsorption-like behavior. The observed reduction peak is attributed to a two-electron process referring to the reduction of azo group. The electrode showed an excellent electrochemical activity toward the electro-reduction of LMT, leading to a significant improvement in sensitivity as compared to the glassy carbon electrode. The results of electrochemical impedance...
