    Abstract
The nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) simulations are performed to calculation the cross drag over a nanotube located in a uniform liquid argon flow. As is known, the behavior of fluid flows in nano-scale sizes is very different from that in microscopic and macroscopic sizes. In this work, our concern is on the flow of argon molecules over a nanotube which occurs in nanoscale sizes. We calculate the cross drag enforced the nanotube at Re<10. In this regard, we use the molecular dynamics and simulate the flow of argon molecules over (6,0), (8,0) and (10,0) nanotubes. The simulations are performed at different velocities and the cross drag coefficient is computed at different Reynolds...

    Abstract
Streaming potential measurement is one of the electrokinetic techniques used to determine the average zeta potential of porous rock which can provide reliable information on reservoir flow behavior and wettability state of the rock surface. Streaming potential measurement using electrodes has recently been introduced in the oil reservoirs applications and there are still significant uncertainties during the measurements and interpretation of streaming potential results. The primary purpose of this work is to establish a setup to measure the streaming potential of porous media with low scattering and evaluate voltage measurements based on the paired stabilization and pressure ramping methods....

Enhancement of bond characteristics of ribbed-surface GFRP bars with concrete by using carbon fiber mat anchorage

    , Article Construction and Building Materials ; Volume 134 , 2017 , Pages 507-519 ; 09500618 (ISSN) Ashrafi, H ; Bazli, M ; Vatani Oskouei, A. V ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
The bond of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement is expected to be more sensitive to the strength and geometry of the ribs than conventional steel reinforcement. In this study, the effect of carbon fiber mat anchorage on the pullout behavior of glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars embedded in normal concrete is studied. The studied parameters were the compressive strength of the concrete (16 MPa, 24 MPa, and 37 MPa), and, the length and diameter of the anchorage. In total, 15 variables were studied. Ribbed GFRP bars with 10 mm nominal diameter and 80 mm embedment length, ld, (which is 8 times the bar diameter) were considered. Based on the results for concretes with the...
