    Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been recently taken into consideration as mechanical resonators of distinguished capabilities. This study aims at investigating the free vibration characteristics of a single-walled CNT in the vicinity of a fully constrained graphene sheet. Using a molecular structural mechanics model and considering nonlinear van-der-Waals interactions, the static deformation of the nanotube is obtained using an iterative procedure. Then, the governing equations of motion are linearized about the static equilibrium state and the natural frequencies are obtained. The molecular structural mechanics model is verified using established results in literature and then a survey is...

Startup of "cANDLE" burnup in a Gas-cooled Fast Reactor using Monte Carlo method

    Abstract
During the past decade, the CANDLE burnup strategy has been proposed as an innovative fuel cycle and reactor design for complete utilization of uranium resources. In this strategy the shapes of neutron flux, nuclide densities and power density distribution remain constant but the burning region moves in axial direction. The feasibility of this strategy has been demonstrated widely by using the diffusion technique in conjunction with nuclide transmutation equations. On the other hand since the Monte Carlo method provides the exact solution to the neutron transport, the Monte Carlo technique is becoming more widely used in routine burnup calculations. The main objective of this work is startup...

Aeroelastic analysis of helicopter rotor blade in hover using an efficient reduced-order aerodynamic model

    Abstract
This paper presents a coupled flap-lag-torsion aeroelastic stability analysis and response of a hingeless helicopter blade in the hovering flight condition. The boundary element method based on the wake eigenvalues is used for the prediction of unsteady airloads of the rotor blade. The aeroelastic equations of motion of the rotor blade are derived by Galerkin's method. To obtain the aeroelastic stability and response, the governing nonlinear equations of motion are linearized about the nonlinear steady equilibrium positions using small perturbation theory. The equilibrium deflections are calculated through the iterative Newton-Raphson method. Numerical results comprising steady equilibrium...
