Analytical model for performance prediction of linear resolver

    , Article IET Electric Power Applications ; Volume 11, Issue 8 , 2017 , Pages 1457-1465 ; 17518660 (ISSN) Saneie, H ; Nasiri Gheidari, Z ; Tootoonchian, F ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this study an analytical model based on solving Maxwell equations in the machine layers is presented for linear resolver (LR). Anisotropy, field harmonics, slot effects, number of slots per pole per phase and the effect of tooth skewing are considered in the model. The proposed method is a design oriented technique that can be used for performance prediction and design optimisation of the LR due to its acceptable accuracy and fast computation time. Two- and three-dimensional time stepping finite element method (FEM) is employed to validate the results of the proposed model. Good correlations between the results obtained by the proposed method and the FEM confirm the superiority of the...

Design and Investigation of Model Predictive Controllers based on Analog Circuits

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadi Khafajeh, Saeed (Author) ; Pishvaie, Mahmoud Reza (Supervisor) ; Vafa, Ehsan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Model Predictive Controllers are one of the most powerful control strategies. This type of controller operates on the basis of optimizing an objective function. In some control problems, model predictive controllers cannot be used due to the high number of optimization variables and high sampling rate. In order to be able to use this type of controllers in these systems, solutions have been proposed, one of which is to perform the optimization using analog computation. In this thesis, it is assumed that the optimization problem is linear or quadratic programming, and for each of these optimization problems, analog architectures are presented that perform the optimization based on analog...

Investigation of Modeling and Implementation of Systolic Arrays on Accelerators

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zarei, Parisa (Author) ; Ghodsi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The ever-increasing volume of data and calculations has caused a noticeable increase in the importance of computer processing speed. Therefore, topics related to parallel processing as an effective solution in increasing the speed of calculations have been specially investigated and studied. Systolic computing is a powerful approach to parallelize data and perform concurrent computations. Systolic arrays fulfill the goals of the algorithm by directing data flow among different processors and performing minor calculations on them. The slowness and limitations of processors compatible with these arrays, such as FPGAs, have faced many challenges in applying and using their capacities. These...
