A chitosan-polypyrrole magnetic nanocomposite as μ-sorbent for isolation of naproxen

    , Article Analytica Chimica Acta ; Vol. 816 , 2014 , Pages 1-7 ; ISSN: 00032670 Bagheri, H ; Roostaie, A ; Baktash, M. Y ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
An extracting medium based on chitosan-polypyrrole (CS-PPy) magnetic nanocomposite was synthesized by chemical polymerization of pyrrole at the presence of chitosan magnetic nanoparticles (CS-MNPs) for micro-solid phase extraction. In this work, magnetic nanoparticles, the modified CS-MNPs and different types of CS-PPy magnetic nanocomposites were synthesized. Extraction efficiency of the CS-PPy magnetic nanocomposite was compared with the CS-MNPs and Fe3O4 nanoparticles for the determination of naproxen in aqueous samples, via quantification by spectrofluorimetry. The scanning electron microscopy images obtained from all the prepared nanocomposites revealed that the CS-PPy magnetic...

Simultaneous energy storage enhancement and pressure drop reduction in flat plate solar collectors using rotary pipes with nanofluid

    Abstract
Flat plate solar collectors waste a massive part of the heat accumulated near the contact region, mainly due to poor thermal characteristics of working fluid. The demanding power for pumping the flow through the pipes seems a permanent concern in solar collectors. Also, active methods seem not to be applicable in such systems due to the external energy requirement and cost associated with it. An innovative and simple technique is considered here to eliminate such deficiencies all at once by equipping the flat plate collector with rotary absorber pipes and Fe3O4/water nanofluid. Results indicate that the applied method improves the convection mechanism in each pipe by mixing the accumulated...

    Abstract
Recently, preparation of lightweight absorbers with high performance capability are urgently needed for practical demanded in order to solve the severe electromagnetic pollution. In the present study, two different composites (Fe3O4/carbon fiber and Fe3O4/rGO) were uniformly incorporated into resin epoxy matrix to obtain single and double layer X-band absorber with 20 wt% filler loading. Each of the composites were prepared via solvothermal process. According to the results, the minimum reflection loss values for each single layer Fe3O4/carbon fiber and Fe3O4/rGO absorber were −15 dB (3 mm thickness and 1.5 GHz bandwidth) and −50 dB (3 mm thickness and 4 GHz bandwidth) respectively. By...
