    Abstract
    One of the most important obstacles in passive radar applications is removing the direct signal from the target channel. Otherwise, week echoes from the targets in the target channel would be ignored due to the limited dynamic range of the system.     Abstract
    Active Queue Management (AQM) policies provide an early indication of incipient congestion to the source. In this paper, we propose a new AQM policy that predicts the instantaneous queue length at next time instant using adaptive filtering technique. To use the algorithm in fast routers, we reduce its computational complexity using a direct method to compute the manipulating signals. We show that adaptive congestion estimation is able to control the oscillations in the instantaneous queue length. We compare the performance of our method with respect to other well-known AQM methods such as RED and PI which are also simulated by MATLAB. We also compare the computational complexity of these...

    Abstract
    We present a new filter trust-region approach for solving unconstrained nonlinear optimization problems making use of the filter technique introduced by Fletcher and Leyffer to generate non-monotone iterations. We also use the concept of a multidimensional filter used by Gould et al. (SIAM J. Optim. 15(1):17-38, 2004) and introduce a new filter criterion showing good properties.     Abstract
    In this paper, a Kalman filter technique which is operated in time is introduced for noise reduction on CT set of projections to reconstruct medical images. The experiments were done on medical image of kidneys and the simulated projections are captured by CT scanner. Evaluation results indicated that as the number of projections increase in the collected ray sums corrupted by noise the quality of reconstructed image becomes better in terms of contrast and transparency. However, for the comparison issue, the same conditions are applied for reconstruction of medical image in frequency domain using filter back projection technique.     This paper presents a novel heat based measurement model for attitude determination (AD) using temperature data via two filtering techniques. Within the space environment, the Sun and Earth are considered as the major sources of external radiation that affect satellite surface temperature. In order to perform the required AD task, the satellite surface temperatures are related to its attitude via a proposed heat model (HM), assuming that the satellite navigational data is available.     A novel filter for use in three-phase power systems is introduced. When the input to the filter is a balanced three-phase set of signals, the filter suppresses noise and distortions and extracts a smooth three-phase fundamental component. When the input signal to the filter is unbalanced, it extracts the fundamental positive-sequence component of the input signal. The filter also estimates the magnitude, phase angle, and frequency of the signal and adaptively follows the variations in all these three variables.
