    Abstract
Development of simple and rapid methods for identification of pesticides, due to their broad usage and harmful effects on mammals, has been known as a critical demand. Herein, we have introduced a silver nanoparticle (AgNP)based colorimetric sensor array for simultaneous identification of Azinphosmethyl (AM)and Phosalone (PS)pesticides. In the presence of the target pesticides, unmodified AgNPs at various pHs (4.5, 5.5 and 9.5)showed different aggregation behaviors. As a result of aggregation, the color and UV–Vis spectra of AgNPs changed differentially, leading to distinct response patterns for AM and PS. The aggregation induced spectral changes of AgNPs, were used to identify AM and PS...

    Abstract
Among High Level Natural Radiation Areas (HLNRAs) all over the world, the northern coastal city of Ramsar has been considered enormously important. Many studies have measured environmental radioactivity in Ramsar, however, no survey has been undertaken to measure concentrations in the diets of residents. This study determined the 226Ra activity concentration in the daily diet of people of Ramsar. The samples were chosen from both normal and high level natural radiation areas and based on the daily consumption patterns of residents. About 150 different samples, which all are local and have the highest consumption, were collected during the four seasons. In these samples, after washing and...

Development of multi-response optimization and quadratic calibration curve for determination of ten pesticides in complex sample matrices using QuEChERS dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction followed by gas chromatography

    , Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 42, Issue 23 , 2019 , Pages 3553-3562 ; 16159306 (ISSN) Balsini, P ; Parastar, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Wiley-VCH Verlag  2019
    Abstract
In this study, QuEChERS combined with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction is developed for extraction of ten pesticides in complex sample matrices of water and milk. In this regard, effective factors of proposed extraction technique combined with gas chromatography with flame ionization detector were designed, modeled, and optimized using central composite design, multiple linear regression, and Nelder–Mead simplex optimization. Later, univariate calibration model for ten pesticides was developed in concentration range of 0.5–100 ng/mL. Surprisingly, quadratic calibration behavior was observed for some of the pesticides. In this regard, Mandel's test was used for evaluating linearity...

Preparation and evaluation of various banana-based biochars together with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for determination of diverse pesticides in fruiting vegetables

    Abstract
Biomass, originates from plant- or animal-based materials with a huge potential to be reused. Here we report a simple, rapid and inexpensive method for preparation of modified biochars derived from the banana peel followed by their applications in pipette-tip micro solid-phase extraction (PT-µSPE). Due to the contribution of various effective parameters on modification of banana peel biochars (BPBs), Taguchi design was used to optimize activation temperature, activation repetition, treatment material and impregnation ratio. Efficiency of the prepared BPBs were studied by extraction of twelve various pesticides, as model analytes with an extended range of log P values (1.4–5.7), followed by...
