Application of fuzzy AHP approach for financial performance evaluation of iranian petrochemical sector

    , Article Procedia Computer Science ; Vol. 31, issue , 2014 , p. 995-1004 Shaverdi, M ; Heshmati, M. R ; Ramezani, I ; Sharif University of Technology
Organizational performance evaluation is a very vital and sensitive process in any industry. One of the most crucial aspects of performance assessment is consideration of financial performance evaluation. In this kind of evaluation, we face many criteria and index to performing and also designing a comprehensive and effective model. Thus, this situation can be regarded as a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, so the fuzziness and uncertainty of subjective perception should be considered. In this paper performance evaluation of seven active companies in the petrochemical industries was evaluated using combined method of fuzzy and analytic hierarchy process. In this paper...

Application of Combining Multicriteria Decision Making Method for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Plant Site Selection in Big Cities (Case Study: Tehran City)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Neshastehgar, Mostafa (Author) ; Tajrishy, Masoud (Supervisor)
One of the most important matters beside the shortage and requirement of water in big cities is how to dispose of wastewater. Also concerns with the continued use of centralized facilities include the capacity limitation, increased population growth, sustainable use of water, water shortages due to changes in global cycles and homeland security and disaster mitigation. Therefore the use of decentralized and satellite treatment systems is essential for big cities such as Tehran. One important matter pertaining to this issue is site selection of decentralized wastewater treatment plant. Multicriteria decision making is one of the methods that is used for site selection. By multicriteria...

Sawability ranking of carbonate rock using fuzzy analytical hierarchy process and TOPSIS approaches

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 18, Issue 5 , 2011 , Pages 1106-1115 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Mikaeil, R ; Yousefi, R ; Ataei, M ; Sharif University of Technology
The aim of this paper is developing a new hierarchical model to evaluate and rank the sawability (power consumption) of carbonate rock with the use of effective and major criteria, and simultaneously taking subjective judgments of decision makers into consideration. The proposed approach is based on the combination of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method with TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) methods. FAHP is used for determining the weights of the criteria by decision makers, and then rankings of carbonate rocks are determined by TOPSIS. The proposed method is applied for Iranian ornamental stone to evaluate the power consumption in rock...

A Hybrid Approach for Evaluation and Improvement of Business Process under Uncertainty

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Jalali Chimeh, Mahdi (Author) ; Haji, Babak (Supervisor)
Business process management (BPM) is an approach which helps managers to gain success in their organization by becoming capable of identifying and developing their processes. Process improvement is a difficult and important step in BPM since modern organizations have a huge number of processes and activities with complex and complicated relationships and interrelationships. In this work our goal is to rank and prioritize processes based on operational limitations of the organization such as budget, human resources, consumer resources and also relationships among processes have been considered and finally develop a portfolio of processes which are vital and essential for improvement....

Application of a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process to the prediction of vibration during rock sawing

    , Article Mining Science and Technology ; Volume 21, Issue 5 , 2011 , Pages 611-619 ; 16745264 (ISSN) Mikaeil, R ; Ataei, M ; Yousefi, R ; Sharif University of Technology
A new predictive model for evaluating the vibration of a sawing machine was developed using a new rock classification system. The predictors are machine parameters and a rock sawability index. The new rock classification system includes four major parameters of the rock: uniaxial compressive strength, abrasivity index, mean Moh's hardness, and Young's modulus. The FAHP approach was used when determining the weights of these parameters by six decision makers. Two groups of carbonate rocks were sawn using a fully-instrumented laboratory sawing rig at different feed rates and depths of cut. During the sawing trials system vibration was monitored as a measure of saw performance. Then, a new...

Integration of simulation and fuzzy multi-attribute decision making for modelling and assessment of fuzzy parameters

    , Article International Journal of Industrial and Systems Engineering ; Volume 6, Issue 4 , 2010 , Pages 483-502 ; 17485037 (ISSN) Azadeh, A ; Seifoory, M ; Abbasi, M ; Sharif University of Technology
This article introduces a methodology to integrate fuzzy multiattribute decision making (FMADM) and fuzzy simulation. According to this method, a fuzzy simulation method is applied to study the effect of different alternative on system's performance and decision criteria taking into account fuzzy inputs. Using a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and the results of fuzzy simulation, a FMADM is conducted to select the best alternative. This article introduces how to incorporate fuzzy set theory with discrete-event simulation in order to model uncertain activity duration in simulating a realworld system, especially when insufficient or no sample data are available. A case study is...

A fuzzy solution approach to supplier selection and order allocation in green supply chain considering the location-routing problem

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 28, Issue 1 E , 2021 , Pages 446-464 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Ebrahimi Qazvini, Z ; Haji, A ; Mina, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Sharif University of Technology  2021
In the eld of supply chain, selecting a suitable green supplier could signi cantly help us decrease the cost and risks of the operations and increase the quality of green supply. This paper develops an integrated two-stage approach based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming to select suppliers and allocate order in the green supply chain. In the rst stage, suppliers are evaluated using FAHP method and in the second stage, a multi-product multi-period supply chain is developed considering green location-routing problem, discounting, and time window under uncertainty. Then, a fuzzy solution approach is applied to solve the proposed...
