Design and Analysis of Engine Lubrication System for SP1 Engine

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohamadlou, Mohamad (Author) ; Shafie, Mohamad Behshad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Oil pump is a prominent part which has been described as a vehicle heart. Any malfunction or improper design may lead to engine failure. beside engine, proper design of oil route and lubrication system of vehicle, are main factor in engine design, which provide higher efficiency with lower pressure drop. lubrication system should be able to provide required pressure and flow of oil in vast range of engine rotation speed. also minimum energy waste in higher rpm is a key factor which happens due to reverse flow from output to input of pump in the relief valve. The aim of this thesis focus on design of oil pump and lubrication system of 4 cylinder 16 valve of 1600 cc inline engine. which is...

Locating Gas Stations in Urban Areas

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zokaie Kheiraie, Ali (Author) ; Zokaei Aashtiani, Hedayat (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Control and managing of fuel consumption is one of the most important issues facing man kind today. Locating gas stations has a great effect on fuel consumption. The gas station locating problem consists of selecting the optimal choice between the candidate nodes for constructing gas stations in such a way that minimizes the excess travel time that results from the gas station not being located on daily travel paths. The gas station locating model is presented for two conditions of either considering and not considering the gas station capacity. In the case of not considering the gas station capacity, a compact model is presented, too. Softwares for medium sized networks and the Simulated...

Modelling and improvement of non-standard queuing systems: A gas station case study

    , Article International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences ; Volume 4, Issue 4 , 2011 , Pages 324-340 ; 17558077 (ISSN) Teimoury, E ; Yazdi, M. M ; Haddadi, M ; Fathi, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
This research has modelled a queuing system with no standard states. In order to analyse these systems, some parameters such as the mean of waiting time and the length of queue are computed. These situations usually occur when there is delay in the service, for example, in the gas queuing system that cars are unable to leave after receiving the required services due to the presence of other cars in front of them. These kinds of non-standard queuing systems are usually applied to the assembly and production lines. In this paper, a queuing model for the special non-standard state queuing system is developed to be used in gas stations. The proposed model is implemented in fuel stations in Iran...

Predictive analytics for fault reasoning in gas flow control facility: A hybrid fuzzy theory and expert system approach

    Abstract
Gas pressure reduction stations are essential in energy distribution networks because even a minor failure of these systems causes disruptive consumer problems. This study aims to introduce and implement a new knowledge-based platform that uses the synthesized expert's opinions to improve gas pressure control facilities. Given the record of failure of gas transmission system components and the data's uncertain nature, a new fuzzy expert system is developed that takes advantage of the object-oriented programming paradigm to analyze failure modes and conditions. The artificial intelligent model is designed in C# programming language, and a user-friendly interface is developed for ease of...
